🐱Meet our brave little hero! This curious cat named "Atari" managed to get a hold of some paracord and ingested a few inches worth. Our skilled team was able to work together and set up our endoscope and safely remove the portion of the paracord that Atari had ingested. A reminder to keep an eye on those adventurous furballs!

🌡️ Learn with Us: July's Disease of the Month — HEAT STROKE 🥵

As summer continues to heats up, so does the risk of heat stroke in our pets, a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. This month, our team is diving deep into recognizing, treating, and preventing it.

🚨 Signs to Watch For:

Excessive panting or drooling

Bright red gums or tongue

Weakness, collapse, or seizures

Vomiting or diarrhea

🐾 How to Help Prevent It:

Walk your pets early in the morning or later in the evening

Keep fresh water available at all times

Never leave your pet in a parked car, even with the windows cracked

💉 If your pet shows signs of heat stroke, it’s an emergency. Call us or head to the nearest emergency hospital immediately.

🩸 Why Whole Blood Transfusions Matter:

Whole blood contains red blood cells, plasma, platelets, and clotting factors, making it incredibly valuable in emergency situations. It’s especially important for patients with:

Platelets are essential for blood clotting.

When a pet’s platelet count drops too low—due to trauma, immune-mediated disease, or toxins—they are at serious risk of spontaneous bleeding, even internally.
