Animal Urgent Care of South Orange County We know emergencies don't happen according to schedule. We are located in Saddleback Valley adjacent to Mission Viejo Animal Shelter.

💙 Celebrating Our Veterinary Technicians 💚

As we wrap up Vet Tech Week 2025, we want to take a moment to thank our incredible veterinary team here at Animal Urgent Care of South Orange County.

If you’ve ever visited AUC, you’ve seen them in action — our technicians are the heartbeat of the hospital. They are the skilled professionals who:
🐾 Draw blood, place IV catheters, monitor anesthesia, and perform CPR.
🐾 Comfort patients in their toughest moments and support families through emergencies.
🐾 Work long nights, weekends, and holidays to make sure your pets get the care they deserve.

This week has been full of laughter, friendly competition, and games as we celebrated their hard work — from E-Collar Engineering to Blind Pull Challenges — all ending today with a well-deserved pizza party 🍕🎉

While Vet Tech Week only comes once a year, our appreciation for this team is year-round. The compassion, skill, and dedication they bring to every patient truly make a difference.

So next time you’re at AUC, please take a moment to thank our amazing team — they’re always here, working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep tails wagging and hearts beating. 💙🐾💚

TECH WEEK 2025 – DAY FIVE 💙🎒✏️
Today’s theme: Bags, Pens & Personality!

Our amazing Technicians and Vet Assistants got spoiled with cute new bags, notebooks, and vet med–themed tattoos — but the real showstopper? 🧢
Each team member received a custom scrub cap, hand-picked by myself and our Tech Managers to match their personality and vibe.

From bold and fearless to calm and collected, every single one of you brings something special to our team — and we see it. 💪
You keep the chaos controlled, the patients safe, and somehow… you do it all with style.

🎮 TECH WEEK 2025 — DAY 5 🎮
Let the Games End in Glory (…or Cat Scratches!)

It’s the final night of our Tech Games! 🏆 The breakroom is fully stocked with Game Day Snacks thanks to AUC Leadership — because our techs deserve more than just the title “Most Likely to Get Peed On.”

From shrimp platters to dips, chips, and veggie trays, we’re fueling up for the chaos ahead:
🛠 E-Collar Engineering Championship
💊 Legendary Pill-the-Cat Gauntlet
🎁 Mystery Box of Vet Med Doom

Think fast. Move faster. And remember — no actual cats (or egos) were harmed in the making of these games. 😹

Stay tuned — 🥁 Winners will be announced Saturday!
But don’t worry, we’re not done celebrating yet… two more days of Tech Week surprises still to come! 💚

📣 TECH WEEK 2025 — DAY FOUR 💥
“Cutting through the chaos — Literally!” ✂️

Tonight, we’re celebrating precision, skill, and the sharp minds (and scissors!) that keep Animal Urgent Care of South Orange County running smoothly. ✨ Every superhero needs the right tools — and our Technicians and Veterinary Assistants are nothing short of heroic when it comes to cutting through emergencies, chaos, and fur (lots of fur). 🐾

Speaking of tools, here’s Erik, one of our incredible Shift Leads, using his to feed a rescued baby squirrel 🐿️💚.
Did you know if you find an injured or orphaned wild animal, you should contact your local animal services, like Mission Viejo Animal Services? Their team will safely scoop them up and bring them to us or another facility for medical care and rehabilitation.

🔥 TECH WEEK 2025 – DAY 3 🔥
Taking care of the caretakers… even when it’s a dumpster fire!

Today’s shout-out goes to three of our amazing leaders who keep the hospital running smoothly no matter what chaos the day (or night) brings — Sam, our Tech Manager; Erik, our Shift Lead; and Jessica T, our Inventory Manager! 🩺🐾

They’re rocking their Day 3 gifts — eye masks, shower steamers, and the perfect little dumpster-fire ornament — a reminder to rest, recharge, and laugh through the madness.

Because even when it’s wild, our team still shines. ✨

🎮 And don’t forget — Tech Games kick off tonight at midnight! Swing vs Overnight collide for a late-night throwdown featuring:
🦛 Hungry Hungry Hippo (Vet Tech Edition)
🧤 Sterile Glove Removal Speed Run
💗 CPR “Simon Says”

If you can survive a code brown, you can handle this. 😆

🩺 TECH WEEK 2025 – DAY TWO 🩺
PROGNOSIS: Full & Fabulous! 🍢💙

Tonight’s treatment plan: Kabobs from Panini Kabob Grill — prescribed for full bellies and high spirits as we continue celebrating our amazing team during Tech Week!

Featured here is Jessica C, one of our compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistants, who goes above and beyond for every patient she cares for. This sweet retriever was hospitalized for gastrointestinal issues — lots of vomiting and diarrhea — and Jess ensured he received not just medical care, but comfort too.

From monitoring vital signs, setting up IV fluids, and keeping treatment areas clean and organized, to providing calm reassurance and those all-important snuggles, Jess embodies the heart of veterinary nursing. 💛

Because here at Animal Emergency Care of South Orange County, we know that healing starts with both science and compassion.

💚 Day 1 of Vet Tech Week: Putting the TREAT in Treatment! 💚

We’re kicking off Veterinary Technician Week at Animal Urgent Care of South Orange County with something sweet — literally!
Our Day 1 theme was “Putting the Treat in Treatment” 🍭🐾

Because while our vet techs are experts in TPRs, diagnostics, and patient care, they’re also the heart (and humor!) of the hospital — keeping spirits high and teammates smiling even through the wildest overnight shifts.

✨ Tech Tip of the Day:
Veterinary technicians aren’t just animal lovers — they’re highly trained medical professionals skilled in anesthesia monitoring, lab diagnostics, triage, radiology, and patient advocacy. Every single treatment plan that helps a pet recover has a technician’s expertise behind it. 🩺💉

🎉 Today’s Celebration:
We filled the breakroom with a sweet spread to remind our team that a little sugar + a lot of appreciation = the best start to Tech Week! From cupcakes to candy jars, every bite was a thank-you for the compassion and care they show every shift.

💬 Follow along all week as we celebrate with games, surprises, and shout-outs — and highlight the skill, science, and soul that make our tech team unstoppable.
