This is heavy flea season when it starts getting colder. Even if your dog doesn’t hang outside half or all day just going outside to pee/poop is enough to get a flea,rabbits, squirrels , birds etc and the fleas multiply so fast. A person can even bring one in the house on a pant leg or shoe.
I’ve been using the furlife flea collar for my dog for the past 2 years, no fleas & no ticks!!! The best thing about it is it’s toxin free, it’s natural ingredients that repel ticks and fleas which is the bomb, no toxins!! It’s more affordable than the Seresto flea collar, don’t buy an over the counter alternate like Hartz etc, just my opinion. Some of the over the counter conflicts with the dog, most of the time they cause dogs to break out. I’ve seen the outbreak almost like they are allergic to whatever is in the collar. So the first furlife flea collar is 5.00 off making the price 26.99, it lasts 8 months or you can choose to buy the 12 month, it slips onto their collar unlike the 8 month that is simply a flea collar and it comes in different collars. I don’t get a kick back from the furlife collar, I’m just so impressed by it with the experience I’ve seen for my dogs.

I never realized how many people have the thinking they should wait until their puppy is 6 months, 1 year to bring it in for grooming.
The best time to start them on the grooming experience is 12 weeks, make sure they are up on their vaccination shots for their age.

Bringing them in at an early age helps acclimate them to the noise of barking dogs, the bath, nail clipping, blow drying, being brushed, the sound of clippers…Sometimes a puppy can be given a hair cut if that is what the owner wants, other times they need more visits/experience so it’s a bath and trimming around the feet, eyes, sanitary area & nails. If it’s the kind of dog that will always need frequent maintenance where a haircut is concerned it’s so important for your dog in the long run. It gives them a positive experience so they aren’t scared or resistant to anything in the grooming process.

It’s so important to research whatever breed of dog you’re wanting to make a part of your family. Research behavior, difficulties, will they need to be groomed on a consistent basis, find out the average cost of grooming. If you decide to bathe your groom required pet at home make sure they are brushed and combed before the bath, same after the bath when they are dried. Research line brushing.

Those of you that think your puppy is to young at 12 weeks, 16 weeks or more to go to the groomer, a breed who requires constant grooming/hair cuts, even non haircuts, nail trims, it’s all about getting them used to a groomer atmosphere.. You’re not doing them a favor by waiting until they are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 months because they will definitely be scared. Getting them in at a young age, make sure they have had more then one round of vaccinations so at 12 weeks it’s a good start. People say they are shaking when I bring them here. I say my own dogs from 12 weeks and older shake when I put them in the tub to bathe them. Dogs are routine animals and even if you are consistent in their groom life they are still going to shake, why? Dogs are routine oriented, even if they are used to the groomer it isn’t in their everyday routine so they shake when you are dropping them off for grooming. Believe me when the owner leaves the shop they stop shaking. I wish for anyone who owns a pet to please do your research as to why your dog acts a certain way, more then likely it will be along the same thing I’ve said above. In the 24 years of grooming I recognize the owners who are full of anxiety transfer those anxious feelings to their animals so then their pets feel they have something to fear, not always, in general it is the case. Despite all of that with questioning if your dog is gonna be ok with me as their groomer I can confidently say I will always treat any client baby the same way I do my own, with so much love and patience ❤️
