This may not look like much, but I’m SO proud of this boy!

Arlo has definitely been one of the most challenging mustangs I’ve worked with so far. Today was the first saddling session since I’ve had him where he didn’t even attempt to strike or cow kick.....and that feels like a pretty dang big win!

Most of his reactions come from fear, but he’s also not afraid to very boldly say no with his hooves or teeth 😂 He’s making me earn every bit of his trust, one tiny step at a time.

It may only be 1% progress each day, but those little wins are starting to add up. So proud of how far this boy has come along! ❤️

Although Arlo is still a little defensive, he’s already proving to be an obstacle king! He barely hesitated as he crashed his way through my obstacle course today 😂 Once he lets those walls come down, I think he’s going to be one incredibly brave horse.

Julia started riding with me a couple of months ago and is quite the little hand to have around! Today she got to join me on the trails aboard one of my client horses, and afterward she hopped on Maverick. It’s been so fun watching the two of them start to figure each other out with every ride.

Meanwhile, Arlo had a big milestone of his own, his first field trip out of the mustang pen! He took it all in stride and started learning to yield his hindquarters. Watching these horses gain confidence one small step at a time never gets old.

Progress looks different for everyone, but it’s always worth celebrating 💕

It's always important to have others handle your mustangs in training! I'm lucky to have a husband that is willing to lead them around here and there.

These two boys are beginning to act like solid citizens! They will be available for reassignment in the next few weeks.

Also, this was Rooster's first time going over the tarp! What a big brave two year old someone will get to love!

There will always be people who question your path, your ability, or whether you deserve a place at the table. I’ve learned that none of those opinions matter nearly as much as the promises I make to the horses in my care. So I’ll keep learning. I’ll keep growing. I’ll keep putting the horse first. The rest will sort itself out.

Help a girl out!

I adopted this cute fella at the Indiana adoption event this last weekend and I need help choosing a name for him. I would love if you could comment which is your favorite one to help me decide! Goose is starting to get the hang of domestic life! Especially after discovering that alfalfa pellets are involved!
