Back from vacation and feeling refreshed after a much-needed break! Thank you so much to all my amazing clients for giving me the time off to relax, recharge, and spend time with friends. And a huge thank you to Cassidy for holding down the fort at Zoo at Home while I was away—I couldn’t do it without you!

Of course, even on vacation, I couldn’t resist saying hello to every island dog and cat I came across. From kitties lounging in the sun to friendly street pups wanting a taste of our dinners, it made my animal-loving heart so happy. I also couldn’t help but notice all the beautiful animal artwork scattered across the island—it’s like the universe knew I was coming!

Welcome to the ZooCrew, Archie!

This week, we’ve been spending our mornings with this sweet boy, making sure he gets his medicine and, of course, plenty of snuggles. With the recent storms knocking out his power, it’s been a bit chilly, so we’re giving him extra warmth and comfort while he’s home alone.

Archie is not only the sweetest but also the softest and most stylish pup—thanks to our friends at Garver Grooming for keeping him looking his best and for recommending us to care for him! Your support means the world to us.

Meet Claire!

Claire is a happy senior Labrador who lives on a beautiful, sprawling acreage filled with Michigan wildlife. We’ve had the pleasure of caring for her for a year now, providing our bed and breakfast plus dinner services while her pawrents are away.

She absolutely loves exploring her property on walks, soaking in the sunshine, and, of course, playing ball—her favorite pastime! When she’s not chasing after her ball, she enjoys rolling around in the grass, fully embracing the peacefulness of nature.

Caring for Claire is always a joy, and I love spending time with her in such a serene setting. Looking forward to many more visits with this sweet girl!

Welcome to the ZooCrew, Rex and Bacon!

We had a great time during our Bed & Breakfast visits with these two sweet fur babies. Bacon loves to perch on your shoulders, purring right in your ear, while Rex is a total love bug who snuggles in as close as possible. It was a joy caring for them, and we’re so happy to have them as part of the Zoo at Home family!

Looking forward to more cuddles with these two!

Welcome to the ZooCrew, Charlie, Indy, and Lucy!

This fun trio is joining our daily drop-in crew for midday visits, and today was our first time together—what a blast! Lucy is all about love, kisses, and playing fetch, while Indy and Charlie keep the conversation going with their adorable chatter.

We’re so excited to have them on our weekly schedule, providing playtime and potty breaks while their pawrents are hard at work. Giving peace of mind (and lots of belly rubs) is what we do best!

🐾 Celebrating One Year with Rosie! 🐾

It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year of caring for sweet Rosie! Rosie lives at an assisted living facility with her wonderful mom, Arlene, and I see her almost every day to take her outside, make sure she’s fed and hydrated, and give her all the care she needs. From vet visits to grooming and nail trims, I’ve been by her side every step of the way.

When I first started, Rosie was nervous—she would hide under the bed and bark, unsure of me. But over time, we built trust, and now she comes running to greet me, barely hiding at all! Not only has she gained confidence with me, but she’s also improved with her mom’s caretakers, becoming more comfortable and trusting with them as well. Watching her growth has been so rewarding, and the bond we’ve formed means the world to me.

I’m incredibly grateful for Rosie, her mom, and the time we’ve spent together over this past year. Here’s to Rosie, our well-deserved Pet of the Month! ❤️🐾

🚨 Welcome to the ZooCrew, Blue! 🚨

We’re so excited to introduce Blue, a sweet pitbull puppy we’re helping with daytime drop-ins. Her pawrents are hard at work, so we’re here to make sure her potty training goals stay on track.

Blue is one smart cookie! She already knows how to sit, lay down, come, and crate beautifully. We can’t wait to see her grow and cheer her on as she masters potty training!

Reunited with Dante the bull terrier for the next three weeks while his mom recovers from surgery! It’s so important for active dogs like Dante to get plenty of exercise and enrichment to burn off that extra energy and keep their minds engaged.

I’ve been a part of Dante’s life since he was just a puppy, and I couldn’t be prouder of how handsome and well-behaved he’s become! Even though it’s snowy and chilly, I’m looking forward to our walks and spending some quality time with him.

🎉 Wrapping up 2024 in the best way possible! Sammy and I had the privilege of joining Michiana’s Hometown Living to talk about Zoo at Home Pet Sitting. 🐾 It was such a fun experience sharing what we do, the incredible pets we care for, and the joy this work brings every day.

Big Shoutout to Sammy’s parents for allowing me to share him with the community! I’m so proud of how well he did. I’ve been caring for him since the start of my business and he holds a special place in my heart!
