Hello everyone. It’s been a very long time since I’ve made a post or have made dog treats and I owe you, my loyal customers, an explanation.
As you all know life is a beautiful thing and can change very quickly. Unfortunately my sweet baby Blue, my muse and inspiration behind Blue’s Chews, has passed away unexpectedly a few months ago. This was a very hard hit to my family as he was the best dog and so perfectly chaotic. Our world felt like it flipped upside down and to this day still doesn’t feel right coming home and not being greeted by his sweet little howls or grumbles. We would do anything to have him back. This is why I have stopped posting and making dog treats. It feels foreign and odd to make these dog treats when Blue isn’t there by my side to take the extra treats that he isn’t supposed to have.
Anyway, this has hit home and has been hard to accept but I know Blue would love for us to be happy. So in honor of him, I will be doing a huge bake sale/donation drive. This sale/donation drive will take place from my home on base, and this sale will occur Saturday, October 5th from 2pm - 6pm or until supplies run out. I know this is very short notice but there are people and animals out there that need our help. Therefore, 50% of the proceeds will be going towards the Souris Valley Animal Shelter supply drive that 5 SFS is hosting, and 50% will be going towards Hurricane Helene relief funds as my hometown Asheville/Hendersonville, NC has been greatly affected. My family is thankfully safe, but the town is flooded, roads and buildings have washed away, bridges have collapsed leaving people stranded with low supplies, there’s very little cell service to contact family, and people are still missing. They need our help and those funds will be sent to sources that can purchase supplies and deliver to those families that need it most.
To conclude, I do want to apologize for my absence and not being able to provide delicious treats for your beautiful fur babies. But now is a time where animals and my community back home needs us.
I do want to thank you for sticking around and reading this long post, but I truly do appreciate you and your fur babies. An additional post with more details will come for the solidified date and time the treats will be available.
