To the person selfishly emptying the pantry:
Please stop. This pantry is meant to help people's pets when they are in NEED. When you come and take every single item, the person behind you finds nothing and their pet has to go without.
I'm just a girl doing this on my own. I cannot keep this pantry full 24/7. I cannot keep up supply when it gets emptied by one person within a few hours of me filling it.
I spend hours of my life finding donations, asking for donations, making labels, printing labels, labeling baggies, bagging up hundreds of bags of kibble, storing and organizing the filled baggies and all the other pet supplies I've gathered in totes, finding places in my house to store the totes, fill the pantry everyday, responding to messages on social media, making bags for people when they have special requests, delivering supplies to people when needed (thanks Jess) and I do all of this FOR FREE.
I take time away from my kids, I take time away from my own animals, I take time away from my friends, I take time away from anything else in my life that I could possibly be doing, to do this.
I do this because I want to help. I do this because I want people to be able to keep their pets at home with them.
Unfortunately all it takes is a few as****es to ruin a good thing. Pantries similar to mine are being shut down across the USA due to entitled people abusing them and not thinking about our community and who we are trying to help.
It's not hard, be kind, be a good person, take what you need and leave what you don't so the next person can too.
