Congratulations to our 2023 'Howl'-o-ween costume contest winner, Remy!

From Remy's mom, Kelly: When did you first welcome Remy into your life? I adopted Remy October 24, 2021

Can you tell us Remy's age or birthdate? His rescue believes he was born in Kentucky on August 14th, 2021

What was Remy's Halloween costume for 2023? Remy planned to find a costume that fit his “party animal” personality. Once we found the wig, we knew he had to be Brett Michaels.

What treat gets Remy's tail wagging the most? Remy loves all treats but he goes crazy for his peanut butter kong.

What activity does Remy enjoy most when spending time with you? Remy loves to go for walks in our neighborhood because there are a lot of people that give him attention.

In your opinion, what makes Remy unique compared to other dogs? I think Remy is unique because I’m pretty sure there is not another dog that has FOMO like this guy. His friends at daycare would be shocked to know he is such a snuggle bug at home because when there are dogs and people (besides mom) around, he will not stop going.

How does Remy like to spend his free days away from daycare?When Remy isn’t at daycare… on days when mom is working, he spends a lot of time trying to see who mom is talking to on her computer or chewing on bones under her desk. When it’s the weekend, he is happiest being out and about going for walks and visiting mom’s best friends. He loves a change of scenery, more people to pet him and sneak him food.

*Fun fact about Remy… when I picked him up at his foster home, he was 6lbs and all the other dogs were all 50-80 lbs. he thinks he is way bigger than 25lbs and loves to run with the big dogs.*

Today we have our second place winner in our Howl-oween Costume Contest!

Congratulations to our Second Place Winner, Delta!

Delta chose to be Audrey Hepburn this year and she looked so chic!

Here's a little more about Delta:

She just turned 10 (she was adopted from the Animal Humane Society at approximately 2 years of age). A DNA test indicated she is a Portuguese Podengo with a hint of Border Collie. She is a new big sister to a 4-year-old adopted Russian

She cannot get enough of her WUBBA toy and a really bouncy rubber ball. She owns the top of the leather sofa where she can often be found sunning herself.

Lately she cannot get enough of strolling around Centennial Lakes Park.

Delta has always been special, but even more amazing as she now embarks on a life without her vision (sudden loss the end of Oct. 2022). She is doing an AWESOME job of teaching her mom how to go for a walk!!

Congratulations to our First Place Winner, Jolene!

Jolene chose to be Dolly Parton this year and her costume was fabulous!

Here is a little more about Jolene:

She has two siblings at home. Coltrane and Frankie are her big brother and sister. All are rescued hounds. She loves to play chase with them.

Jolene has lived with her furever family since she was a puppy- she is a foster failure.

Favorite treat or toy? She loves pulled chicken and all stuffed toys.

Favorite spot to relax/nap/lounge around in her home? She loves to lounge in front of the fireplace.

Favorite activity to do outside of your home? Daycare with all her friends, and she has many friends there!

What makes Jolene unique and special? She is a big goof and loves all people and dogs.

What sets Jolene apart from other dogs/pets that you have or know of?
Jolene always bring the best energy and wins over all pups and people.

Is there a silly, emotional, or fond memory you’d like to share? She loves to roll on her back at random times - especially down any hill or in the middle of the street on walks.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Jolene a little better ❤
