Last weeks summer camp was so much fun!

Big thanks to Leah Ried Photography for coming out to chat, the girls took some great pictures and enjoyed the experience!

Another thanks goes to Mark Spray for coming to the farm and talking about his business as a farrier, their biggest take away was self care and preventing burnout!

Finally thank you Dr. Gallo from Running G Equine for talking with the girls about your experience as a vet! They were intimidated by the amount of school however I know one of the girls is very excited to get started!

I look forward to next weeks summer camp Horse’n Around!

There will be free pony rides, live demonstrations and Q&A with Purina Sales Specialist Joel Edge , Mark Spray and Running G Equine. There will also be a silent auction benefiting the ARL. The winning bidders will be announced at 11:30am.

☀️Summer Camp Dates 2025☀️

Even though it’s still chilly outside, be ready for this years summer camps!

Horse’n Around 2 different dates available
The Equine Entrepreneur. June 3rd-5th
The Equine Artist. July 1st-3rd

Camps are 3 days long from 10am to 3pm Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. All students will have one on one riding lessons each day to prepare for the mini horse show (walk trot class).

Horse’n Around
This camp is pure fun and a little bit of everything! Students will learn about equine basics such as anatomy, colours, and breeds but also about different disciplines and tack! There will also be speakers such as Dr. Gallo the Veterinarian and Mark Spray the Farrier! Students will have painting opportunities during lunchtime, and will also compete in a horse show together on the last day of camp. This is an all round favourite and that is why there will be two different dates!
June 17th-19th
July 8th-10th

The Equine Artist July 1st-3rd
Students will learn about horse anatomy and sculpt a horse, learning different techniques to create texture in the clay. Students will also get the chance to observe a horse in motion, and learn about horses in art history. They will use what they learn to draw using a reference photo and grid, using shading to create depth and detail in their drawings. The final project students will work on is entirely up to them! The can paint, sculpt or draw their final project and it will be displayed on the last day of the camp. Parents are welcome to attend during the last day for a mini horse show and an art competition! This camp will be held July 1st-3rd

The Equine Entrepreneur June 3rd-5th
This camp is for the older students looking to explore possible equine careers! This camp will be age restricted to students 13years old and up. The speakers from the Horse’n Around camps will also attend this camp plus more to come! Participants will learn and get first hand experience at this camp with live demonstrations and resources to help them to pursue their career of choice. By the end of the camp they will put together a business plan that suits the student best! This camp will be held June 3rd-5th.

2020 Palomino mare by Metallic Voodoo (Metallic Cat)
Located in central Iowa, this mare is very talented, has had 6+ months of cutting training in Texas and is currently in training at AMC Performance Horses. Fantastic prospect for reined cow horse, ranch horse, cutting or roping.
Amazing cow horse bloodlines, and beautiful dappled palomino colour standing at 14.2 hands tall. Neck reins, rolls back, big stopper (she’s barefoot in video). Will get videos on cattle soon.
