✨Vet Tech Spotlight: Rianna, CVT & Hospital Manager✨

Rianna joined Lakeside Animal Hospital in July of 2024 as our Practice Manager, and we truly don’t know what we would do without her! She is the person who keeps Lakeside running smoothly every day. She is our rock, our mentor, our therapist, and our leader all rolled into one. Rianna is exactly what Lakeside needed, and her passion for veterinary medicine and the people around her keeps us going every single day.

Rianna graduated from Ridgewater College’s Veterinary Technology Program in 2007 and earned her CVT certification. She has been working in veterinary medicine ever since, spending 6 years in general practice and 11 years in specialty medicine. During her time in specialty, Rianna was a supervisor for the surgery, neurology, and ophthalmology services. Needless to say, she brings an incredible amount of knowledge and experience to our team!

One of the things Rianna loves most about veterinary medicine is that it is always changing. She is constantly learning, growing, and looking for ways to improve—not only herself, but our entire team. Her knowledge, leadership, and willingness to share what she knows have made such a huge impact on Lakeside.

Outside of work, Rianna is a busy mom of three—two boys and a girl! Her kids are involved in several sports and activities, and she loves spending that time together as a family with her husband At home, Rianna also has three dogs and a lot of kitty cats to take care of when she isn’t working or chasing after her family, she loves traveling, exploring, and making memories with the people and animals she loves most.

Rianna, we are beyond grateful that you found your way to Lakeside. You have made such an incredible impact on our team, and we truly couldn’t imagine our day-to-day lives without you. Thank you for being our leader, our mentor, our biggest supporter, and the heart behind so much of what makes Lakeside special.

✨Vet Tech Spotlight: Jaliyah✨

Jaliyah joined the Lakeside family in early 2026 as an extern from Milwaukee Career College’s Veterinary Assistant Program. Her externship was only a few short months, but it didn’t take long for us to absolutely adore her! Thankfully, we were also in the market for a new technician, so after her externship, we made it official and welcomed Jaliyah to the Lakeside team this summer!

We are SO thankful Jaliyah decided to stay with us. Her bright personality and contagious energy bring so much joy to our hospital every single day. She has such a warm aura that anyone who meets her can feel, and her caring demeanor makes her the perfect fit for veterinary medicine. She is constantly complimenting our patients, showering them with love, and treating every client and patient with so much kindness and compassion.

One of the things we admire most about Jaliyah is her willingness to learn and grow. She has mastered so many skills in such a short amount of time, skills that often take much longer to learn! She is always eager to learn, willing to help, and never afraid to jump right in.

And of course, Jaliyah brings a little sparkle to Lakeside—literally! She sprinkles herself with sparkles daily, so it’s only fitting that she adds a little extra sparkle wherever she goes!

Outside of work, Jaliyah has three dogs and two kittens who keep her busy, and she loves traveling whenever she gets the chance.

Jaliyah, we are beyond thankful you found your way to Lakeside and decided to stay! You have become such a special part of our team, and we absolutely love having your caring heart, infectious energy, and sparkle around every day!

✨ Vet Tech Spotlight: Carissa, Inventory specialist ✨

Carissa joined the Lakeside family in early 2026, and we are so happy she found her way to us! From the moment she joined our team, it was clear how passionate she is about animals and how much she genuinely cares about the patients we see every day. Her love for what she does shines through in everything she puts her hands on, and she is always willing to jump in wherever she is needed.

Carissa is truly a triple rockstar here at Lakeside! She wears many hats as our float assistant, CSR, and inventory specialist. Whether she’s helping the team in the treatment area, taking care of our clients at the front desk, or making sure our inventory is stocked and organized, Carissa plays such an important role in keeping our hospital running smoothly. We especially appreciate all the hard work she puts into making sure our patients have the medications, supplies, and everything else they need to receive the best care possible. She is always thinking ahead and making sure we have what we need before we even realize we need it!

When Carissa isn’t at Lakeside, she is busy being a loving kitty mom to her two cats, who she absolutely adores! She also loves spending time with her boyfriend, playing video games, and showing off her creativity by doing her nails—and we have to say, she does some seriously beautiful nail designs!

We are so lucky to have Carissa as part of the Lakeside family. We can’t wait to see all the ways she continues to grow and shine with us!

✨ Vet Tech Spotlight: Cheryl ✨

Cheryl joined the Lakeside family in 2020, starting as a receptionist before eventually making her way to the back as a technician. Cheryl is such a valuable part of Lakeside, and her dedication to making sure things get done and her passion for helping our patients are something we admire so much. She is incredible at reading dog body language, you’d swear she can read their minds! Cheryl is so in tune with animals and has a special way of calming them down and making them feel safe, comfortable, and trusted while in our care.

Before finding her way into veterinary medicine, Cheryl was a PE teacher for many years. Eventually, Cheryl decided, as most of us in vet med do… she preferred working with animals more than people.

Outside of work, Cheryl has a wonderful wife and three amazing adult children who keep her on her toes and bring her so much happiness. She also has two very energetic dogs and a cat who keep life interesting! Cheryl loves hiking and traveling and always has the most amazing stories to tell us about her adventures. If you’re ever looking for somewhere to travel, just ask Cheryl, she knows all the best places!

We truly couldn’t imagine Cheryl anywhere but Lakeside. She is such an important part of our team and someone we can always count on. She gives the BEST advice, whether we’re asking what’s wrong with our car or how we should take care of a plant, Cheryl always has the answer.

One of the things we love most about Cheryl is how incredibly comforting she is. Her calm, gentle demeanor makes everyone around her feel at ease, and anyone who meets her would 100% agree.
We wouldn’t be the same without you, Cheryl. We love you!

✨Vet Tech Spotlight: Patrick, CVT✨

Patrick has been part of the Lakeside family since 2021, but he’s been in veterinary medicine “since the 1900s,” as he would say! Patrick is such an essential part of our clinic. He brings endless joy, knowledge, and a little bit of chaos to our days, and he is always willing to lend a hand to a client, patient, or coworker. His expertise is so valuable, especially when it comes to wrangling our more difficult patients and making sure everyone stays safe. Patrick also works per diem at an emergency hospital, continuing to put his knowledge and skills to work helping patients when they need it most.

If you’ve ever encountered Patrick with your pup, you already know he’s never short on handfuls of treats and head scratches! From his early-morning 80s rock jam sessions and love for surgery ( as you can see in the picture) to being our resident coffee connoisseur (who would probably drink every cup in the clinic if he could), Patrick keeps us laughing and smiling through even the busiest days.

Outside of Lakeside, Patrick is an amazing dad to his daughter and a proud owner of a crazy kitty named Mobius. He loves playing guitar and jamming with bands whenever he gets the chance. If you ever catch Patrick with some free time at Lakeside, there’s a pretty good chance he’s browsing guitars online!

Patrick is truly one of the most knowledgeable, free spirited, and positive people you could meet. We are so thankful for everything he does for Lakeside and for the joy he brings to our team every day. We wouldn’t be the same without you, Patrick!
