This is a PSA for all dog and other pet owners. Our dog recently died in a very terrible way. He ate this mushroom and it did a number on his GI tract. The vets did everything they could and tried to perform surgeries to correct the damage made on his system but he was too weak from what the toxins did to him to survive the second surgery.

So please I urge you to examine your yards thoroughly and tear out and treat any areas you find any mushrooms especially this one. Our dog didn't really show symptoms or signs of something being truly wrong until it was too late. He had ulcers throughout is intestins and even if they did the surgery sooner there's no telling if it would've saved him. The toxins from this mushroom don't need long for it to do the damage it did. The mushroom is called Lattice Stinkhorn, and it's name holds true. Because it smells like a dead animal or rotting meat. I pray no one has to watch their dog suffer and die the way we did ours. I only wish to help others to learn from our loss.
