“Horses who understand children are one of our loveliest mysteries.” - Jean Abernethy

Pictured below is sanctuary resident Whinny with Volunteer Emerson. If you know Whinny, you know she can be quite a bit for handling, however her
love for children is unmatched. The innocence of children and their pure intentions helps horses with traumatic pasts.

Thank you Emerson for being so amazing, empathetic and understanding. Whinny loves you! 💓

Elvis & Tater were kicking up the dust… LITERALLY!

About choked us out. BUT… they were having a blast together. Shortly after their shenanigans, it began to rain.

I’m thankful for their dusty rendition of a rain “dance”. 🕺🐎💨

Washing off the past, bringing forth a healthier, happier future for Dreamer and Strutter.💓💙

Both horses stood perfectly for a good yet gentle scrubbing yesterday. Taking off years of heartbreak and let down.

Two once broken souls are finding strength and fellowship under the gentle and compassionate hands of our volunteer team.

Dreamer and Strutter are ready to kick off their first beautiful weekend in rescue and are enjoying the life they deserved all along.

Cheers to making it to Friday and for helping our team heal two more, once forgotten beings. ❤️‍🩹

Retired Tiny Acres NWFL mascot Maggie is enjoying her bright, new, and slightly large fly mask from Volunteer Betty!

It may be a little big, but Maggie says it’s perfectly pink and comfy.

Thank you Betty for your recent donations of fly masks and fly boots! Always keeping our herd fashionably fit! 🩷🐎

🕺🐎 Meet Strutter 🐎🕺

Strutter arrived alongside companion Dreamer on Saturday 9/13/25.

Strutters owner suffered from progressive dementia making it incredibly difficult to provide basic/adequate care for his horses.

He is a Grade horse, over 20 years of age based on his teeth, and has a sweet but hesitant disposition.

We were informed that Strutter spent his younger years as a Hunter Jumper.

He is settling in nicely with Dreamer and enjoying his soaked mash and forage. 💚🐎❤️‍🩹

Strutter has a weak hind-end likely due to dehydration and muscle loss.

The weight of a world that once overlooked these precious beings was stripped away today.

Burdens come in many forms and for both Dreamer and Strutter, part of their burdens was the inability to swish their tails and protect their necks from flies and bugs.

Weight of manes and tails that haven’t seen a brush, hand and attention is what appears to be many years.

Here’s to new beginnings and our team chipping away at those weights more and more each day for these two special and sweet beings.

Welcome to safety, love and quality care Dreamer and Strutter. You’re safe now. ❤️‍🩹🐎

Tiny Acres NWFL

Welcome to Tiny Acres Northwest Florida Inc. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit equine rescue (EIN# 84-3137897). With our great efforts, we have saved horses from neglect cases in Santa Rosa County, kill pens in Texas, as well as throughout the State of Florida and neighboring states. Our rescue also offers a Horses from Hospice program which allows for us to help families who are in ill-health or who have deceased by taking in their horse(s) that they have left or are soon to leave behind . We have made saving animals our lives purpose and we greatly enjoy what we do. Our motto is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome.

Donations are accepted through our Facebook fundraisers, PayPal, Venmo and through our local feed store, Mannings Feed and Seed of Milton.
