Farrier day is an important day.. The saying is no hoof no horse. Gotta keep those tootsies healthy as they have mighty big jobs with carrying these large animals around and supporting all that weight.
We had some outstanding herd members being so patient and willing for their trims today. I canβt always say that. π However, today was a good day!
A very sweet donor (who wishes to remain anonymous) and their beloved best friend , Josie (a 5 year old rescued Basset) sponsored and delivered a Publix sub luncheon for our volunteer team today in memory of Clementines passing.
This was such a wonderful and sweet gesture that means so much to our team.
Ellie Mae even joined in on the picnic under our favorite oak tree.
We very seldomly think of ourselves and place all of our sweet babies before our own needs, so today was so special.
Thank you to this wonderful donor and sweet Josie for your compassion and generosity. πππ
We would also like to take this moment to thank our awesome farrier for stopping in for a few quick trims as well as this beautiful bouquet of hand picked flowers from her garden. πΈ πΉ π
Today was a great day. ππ

π So many amazing donations rolling in! π
Many of these were for our dearest Clementine; however, we have a very important piece of her still with us: Ellie Mae, who will also greatly benefit from many of these specific items.
We do not have a sponsor for Ellie Mae currently but are rolling over her mothers donations onto her so that her daily needs are met.
Bless you all for your unwavering support in our mission of rescue. You keep our mission fueled and dream alive.
20 days in our care but as with each of them, regardless of the amount of time we share with them, they are family, deeply loved and forever missed. 20 days or 20 years, they all take a piece of us with them when they go.
Ellie Mae is now tasked with learning to live without her mother. 16 years they shared, never apart. We gave her time to grieve Clementine yesterday before she was buried. A necessary step for them so that they may understand their friend is gone and that life may be a little different from now on.
She stands next to Clementineβs burial staring off as if she is teaching herself to understand this change. She calls for her randomly and looks around as awaiting a call back from mom. π Itβs incredibly heartbreaking to witness.
We are giving Ellie Mae endless attention, affection and time.
1.5 hours after she laid down to rest, she took her very last breath. Clementine peacefully left us at 12:30pm CST today. π
A quick and painless ending to her many years of suffering. All that has been done to harm you is now undone.
Clementine left us with the assistance of our veterinarian. They made it here just in time to ensure she didnβt pass on her own.
She was ready to go. She even had a smile on her face, weβve never experienced that before.
Thank you to all who have reached out, to everyone who has donated, shared posts, and visited with Clementine.
She fought very hard to survive and heal with our team fighting just as hard alongside her. Her poor battered body and soul were just too tired to continue.
Rest easy now my love, run free and painless in fields of happiness. Where neglect and heartbreak do not exist. Iβm sorry this world was so cruel to you.
We will bring comfort to your daughter Ellie Mae. She is missing you badly right now.
Clementine is on her way out. I have no words right now due to barely being able to see past my tears to write this post but wanted everyone to know whatβs going on.
Her body temp is 95, capillary refill time - nonexistent, heart rate 44 bpm.
Please pray for our team and this sweet senior gal as she peacefully transitions from this cruel, disposable world.
Our vet has been notified and hopefully out shortly, if she doesnβt pass before then. Would anyone be willing to cover her burial costs?

God bless this innocent soul, mistreated by the human race. Nothing deserves this.

When bathing a horse, you get that one hard to reach itchy spot. You know itβs good when the teefers show!
Cheyenne is here for it! She loves a good scritchy scratch!

Tomorrow marks 20 days since Clementine arrived to us. In those 20 days, she has never once offered to lie down.
She needs to lie down to sleep effectively so that she may rest and heal.
Likely a combination of reasons why she wonβt lay down; arthritis, lack of strength, uncomfortability, new environment, but today she hinted to wanting to.
We are hoping that she chooses to tonight after trying earlier this afternoon.
REM sleep is vital for health and healing, and is acquired while lying down.
We pray tomorrow she is wiling to do so. We have a sling that we can use in her stall if she is willing.
