Our hearts ache Babygirl. I swear I heard you this morning calling out “good morning” in the most subtle, gentle whinny as you did every morning for the last 4 years.
One more bucket filled out of muscle memory. I gave your portion to your best companion Dahlia. We love you sweetheart. 😔💔🌈🐎🙏🏼

Yesterday, our second most recent arrival Khloe was seen by Dr. First and his team!
Khloe received an updated Coggins, health exam, dental and X-rays so that we can properly assess her foundered hooves.
Upon completion of her X-rays, Khloe has severe laminitis in both front hooves with a 35% rotation on the left and a 26% rotation on the right with advanced remodeling of both hooves.
She also has significant arthritis due to this which does cause her to stand differently than she should.
Her dental exam indicated significant hooks with very sharp points. The dental float she recieved yesterday was well-overdue and at dinner feed time, she was eating much more happily and comfortably.
Khloe’s prognosis is poor for her young age. She is only 13 years old and unfortunately due to how severe her arthritis and laminitic issues are, she will not live a typical long life, even with extensive corrective care and management.
We can however, provide her will sanctuary and the promise of a happily and safe ever after for however many years that she has left.
Welcome to sanctuary sweet Khloe. 🙏🏼💕🐎

✝️ Savior Update: Cancer Confirmed ✝️
Yesterday was a busy veterinary day with 9 herd members being seen.
As part of that, Savior had his initial veterinary exam specifically to help identify this painful, red, and swollen mess on his eyes and face.
A thorough exam was conducted and our worst fears confirmed, Savior’s right cornea is cancerous; specifically squamous cell carcinoma.
The concern now is that the cancer may also be within the bone behind the eye and on his skin.
Savior will immediately start an aggressive treatment to both slow the cancer progression and fight the cancer itself for 30 days. After the 30 days, if his skin hasn’t improved enough, a skin biopsy will be conducted, with possible eye enucleation and further aggressive treatment, if needed.
Please keep this big, beautiful, and extremely sweet fella in your thoughts and prayers as we maneuver through the next month of rigorous cancer treatment.
Other than this, he is a happy, outgoing, and charismatic gelding. He’s super chatty and loves his pony friends. 🖤✝️🙏🏼
If anyone would like to help us cover his cancer medications, which will help us out tremendously, please see the links and button below. Every little bit helps and Savior is worth the fight. 🙏🏼

🌈 No more pain, confusion and uncertainty. 🌈
Thunder and a slight rain set in just as you closed your eyes for the final time; no doubt in our minds that the thunder was the sweet sound of your hooves cantering freely in heavens beautiful pastures with the herdmates that have gone before you.
We will miss your sweet, subtle calls each morning and how gentle you were even after so much heartbreak from your life before.
Thank you to everyone who came out today to bid this amazing little mare safe travels for her bright, new journey in the stars. She appreciated your love, and delicious snacks. 🙏🏼♥️
Rest easy now my love. You’ve done well. 🌈 🐎💔
*Kit-Kats final expenses have been generously covered by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. Bless you. 🙏🏼

Anticipating the passing of a beloved herd mate is never easy. Grief is an indescribable pain and feeling with no grief trumping another.
Knowing that our time is running out with our precious Kit-Kat brings about an aching that only losing a furbaby can bring.
Kit-Kat, aka Kitty, is a super, senior sanctuary resident. Aged over 35 years old, she’s lived a life that hasn’t been all that good. Humans have failed her miserably. Living an existence of nightmares, switching through many homes, used merely for pony rides and breeding, her one life in this world was never her own.
Not until she found her safety with us here at Tiny Acres NWFL. We rehabilitated her, provided her with continuous love, admiration, respect, and quality care day in and day out for nearly 4 years. Our team worked endlessly to give her life back to her. She chose what she wanted and didn’t want. She seemed content and happy just being a horse and not working for any human. A true, sanctuary.
Tomorrow, we will provide this beautiful soul with a dignified last act of kindness, where she will leave this earth on a good day, not a day of misery and poor physical health.
Kit-Kat suffers from frequent neurological events that have been directly connected to her very advanced and unmanageable Cushing's Disease. With this, she exhibits severe signs of dementia, is mostly blind, and has issues with coordination.
She will be provided with any and everything she could possibly want until that time and loved immensely. This mare will leave this world only knowing true love and safety.
Kit-Kat is just one of the many voiceless beings that our team has assisted. Without help from any local, or surrounding State, County, or City agencies but instead from citizens of the community, the true animal welfare advocates. We cannot wait for any agency to intervene when time is of the essence. Not all animals will receive their justice, but if we can help it, they will receive a voice and a second chance at life.
Please stay tuned as tomorrow will be a busy veterinary day, which will conclude with this baby leaving us. She will be buried on site. 🙏🏼😔💔

One of our pasture cameras picked up this gaggle of ponies scoping out the trailer when Savior arrived on Saturday.
Talk about a welcoming commitee! 🤣💕👀

The medals have arrived!! 🏅🐎🏅
Shoutout to the amazing and kind folks with Award Masters, Inc. in Pensacola for creating and sponsoring the below winning medals for our upcoming ‘Kicks For A Cause’ Charity Kickball Tournament on June 28th!!
Savior checking in on his second morning here in our care.
We are treating Saviors eyes with a topical cream which has already reduced much of his inflammation. We are also providing him with daily Equioxx for facial and head pain, padded halter for handling, fly mask to help with healing and his pink skin, as well as a cool, and shady paddock.
This gentle, sweetheart of a guy has a past far more painful that we originally knew.
Since his arrival into our care, people who knew Savior previously have reached out in regards to information pertaining to his past and essentially how he came to be within our area.
According to new information we are learning, Savior was originally rescued by two individuals after learning of his very deplorable health and living conditions. Those individuals took him on themselves, then reached out to a rescue organization Southeast of our area to request for their assistance. That organization (no longer in business) took Savior in, rehabilitated him back to health, provided him with training, gelded him and upon completion of these tasks, he was adopted to a home in our area in American Farms.
Long story short, Savior was doing exceptional under the adopters care until they begin to neglect his care, he became emaciated again and was constantly getting out with his then companion, running around in East Milton. In this adopted home, according to what we are learning, Savior, along with his companion were mistreated along with being neglected soon after his adoption. The adopter was in and out of jail, and nobody to care for the horses. The companion of Savior turned up deceased (it is believed that the adopter had harmed the horse) leaving Savior to survive alone.
It wasn’t until this helpful and willing neighbor took Savior in, rehabilitated him back up to weight and provided veterinary care for him. When life got in the way, this individual reached out to us to inquire about the possibility of surrendering him into our care. Learning more of his past now, we certainly are glad that we said “YES!”
Savior has suffered so much in his life. All of that ends NOW. With your help he will only know the best care, compassion, respect and endless love for the rest of his years.
We have attached the photos of his original rescuing back in 2021, provided by those who assisted with that along with photos from today after he recieved his initial intake eval with our team.
This Savior needed saving many times, and we are happy to be his final saving grace. 💕🙏🏼

We’ve got a long way to go Savior. I know this hurts so bad, but we will do everything we can to provide healing and a pain free life for you.
Just hang on a little longer. You still have so much life in you!
Our vet will be out this coming week to see a few herd members as well as to conduct an exam on Savior, and to come up with a game plan for his severely burnt and raw skin around his eyelids and down his face. This is on both sides.
His weight is good but he needs a lot of TLC.
Savior arrived from a local, Milton home after his owner made a plea on social media for his rehoming. Our organization was recommended to the owner by several local community members, at which time the owner reached out to our team.
This is why we are here. To help the voiceless in their most desperate times of need.
Thank you to all who’ve donated towards his care. We feel it will be quite costly to get him squared away. For those wishing to contribute items versus monetarily, Savior does have a few items he will require as part of his rehabilitation and care that we have added to our organizations Amazon and Chewy Wishlists. For those interested, we have added the links below.
God bless you all for your continued support, so that we may be able to continue our mission which has proven imperative and crucial to our local and surrounding areas. There’s no help for equines within our county, but we stand ready around the clock.

🚨 New Intake Alert 🚨
Tiny Acres NWFL supporters and followers, we need your help! Please welcome Savior to the Tiny Acres herd. Savior, a 25+ year old gelding, recently found himself in need of immediate, safe placement due to his owner's unexpected financial circumstances.
Our goal in rescue is to provide at-risk horses with safe placement where they can receive the veterinary care that they need along with the love, respect, and tailored care that they require.
Savior requires immediate veterinary care for his eye condition which is causing him severe pain. He will also need feed, forage, farrier, and most importantly, veterinary care for his eyes. Can you help us provide him with the relief that he deserves? Donations can be made at the links and button below. Help us help those without a voice. Donations are tax-deductible under our EIN #84-3137897

“They dont need to be ridden to be remarkable.”
This is a great read, an informative perspective on the real value of the unrideable horse.
Working in rescue, 99% of the horses that arrive into our care are unrideable. Whether is be due to age, health, sensitivity or past injuries, they all ended up homeless and unwanted or on the verge of it.
99.9% of the adoption requests that we recieve are for rideable horses. There are many reasons for this, but oftentimes the excuse why unrideable is unwanted is due to the potential adopter not wanting something that they cannot ride specifically.
This article reflects how equines have unimaginable value to the right person, and that just because they are unsound for riding, doesn’t mean that they can no longer provide companionship, loyalty and with some, in-hand therapeutic services.
In the horse world, value is too often measured in miles ridden, ribbons won, or jumps cleared. Success is frequently defined by performance, competition, or potential. But there's an entire population of horses–older, injured, sensitive, or simply different–who remind us that value has nothing ...
