🚨🐶 DOES YOUR DOG SMELL LIKE CORN CHIPS? 🌽🐾 🚨

Okay, we know that sounds funny… but that “Frito feet” smell could actually be a sign of yeast overgrowth! 👀

If your pup is constantly licking their paws or other spots on their body, scratching, or smelling a little… well, funky 😬—it may be time to take a closer look.

🐾 Some common signs of yeast overgrowth include:
❗️Constant licking or chewing
❗️Red, irritated skin
❗️A musty or “corn chip” odor
❗️Greasy or flaky skin
❗️Darkened or thickened skin
❗️Frequent scratching
❗️Recurring ear problems or head shaking

💡 HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART:
Yeast doesn’t just happen for no reason. Allergies, moisture, skin irritation, and other underlying issues can contribute to yeast overgrowth. Simply bathing your pup may not solve the problem.

🩺 If you suspect a yeast infection, your veterinarian should diagnose it and recommend the appropriate treatment. Depending on the cause and location, treatment may include medicated shampoos, topical medications, ear treatments, or addressing an underlying allergy or other condition.

🐾 WHY REGULAR NAIL TRIMS ARE SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR DOG! 🐾

Keeping your dog’s nails trimmed isn’t just about making their paws look neat—it’s an important part of their health, comfort, and mobility! ❤️🐶

✂️ Prevents Pain & Discomfort
When nails become too long, they can press against the ground with every step, causing discomfort and even pain.

🦴 Protects Their Joints
Long nails can change the way a dog stands and walks. Over time, this can put unnecessary stress on their toes, paws, legs, and joints.

🐾 Helps Prevent Injuries
Overgrown nails are more likely to snag, split, crack, or even break. In severe cases, nails can curl underneath and grow into the paw pad.

🏠 Makes Walking Easier
Dogs should be walking on their paw pads—not balancing on long nails. Keeping nails at an appropriate length helps them walk, run, and play more naturally.

❤️ Prevents the Quick From Growing Too Long
The longer a nail gets, the longer the blood vessel and nerve inside it (the “quick”) can become. Regular trims help gradually maintain a healthy nail length.

🐕 Don’t Forget the Dewclaws!
Dewclaws don’t always touch the ground, so they may not wear down naturally. They can become especially long and curl into the skin if they’re overlooked.

Having your pet groomed regularly can expose hidden things that your groomer finds that you may be unaware of. This kitty came in for her yearly grooming visit. As you can see under the collar was a bald spot. When we showed the owner he said he did not even notice it was there. We suggested the cat not to wear it anymore, and the owner agreed, and was thankful for our observation. We were glad that we could help and owner , and kitty felt much better!
