Roger That Rover

Roger That Rover A "home away from home" approach to daycare and sleepovers for your furry family members Hi there! My name is Jamey Rogers. Sure, my husband loves animals!

Since graduating from the University of Delaware in 2012 with a B.S. in Animal Science, it has always been my dream to own a lot of land and A LOT of animals. After marrying my husband Rick in 2018, I realized that I was going to find myself divorced and homeless if I continued to bring four-legged animals home. But he thinks two dogs, ten cats, and two potbelly pigs are enough. I beg to differ. B

ut, we all know what they say about marriage..."compromise is key". So, in early 2019, we started offering our home to our friends as an alternative option for their pets when they would go away on vacation. By doing so, I was able to give all of my love and energy to more animals, and give them back at the end of their stay. Two years later and I am still happily married and still compromising. By the way, I prefer "happy wife, happy life" instead!

There are two jobs in our world at this time: making sure dinner gets cooked (šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø), and making sure the pups get their last round of play before going home (āž”ļø šŸ™‹ā€ā™‚ļø).
Side note: he came in and said, ā€œwell, if they aren’t tired after that, I don’t know what to doā€ šŸ˜‚

Dinner’s ready, honey!

šŸ˜‚ oh the people that make the laws that don’t know anything about dogs. Let’s duct tape their mouths shut, ask them to speak English for everyone to understand what they are saying, and then punish them for not being understood.
Better yet, start fining people that yell above a certain decibel for more than 15 minutes and then I will call it fair. They are WAY more annoying than a barking dog. Why? Because, for some of them, we can actually understand them and they still don’t make any sense.

Moral of the story: This is reason #1 that I prefer to deal with my four-legged babies than two-legged people who live in big houses and probably don’t even own a dog but decide how to dictate ours šŸ™„

A new law aimed at curbing excessive dog barking in Delaware takes effect Thursday.

We will be closed on Wednesday, July 2nd to honor and remember a beautiful soul that our community will forever miss. Terry Twardesky was an amazing human, inside and out. Her love for our family showed every Wednesday when she would bring her beloved Augie to daycare. Not only was he excited to see us, but she was too. She never showed up empty-handed to pick Augie up from daycare either. Sometimes she brought us oranges, sometimes it was apples, and sometimes it was a gift for our daughter, Braelynn. She was just so kind and thoughtful like that. It will always be a little dimmer on Wednesdays, not seeing Terry pull into our driveway. We are honored and lucky to have known her. And we are grateful that Terry’s good friend, Deb, will still bring Augie to us on Wednesdays. In a way, it will feel like we still have a little part of Terry with us.

Thank you all for understanding our reason for closing this coming Wednesday. Anyone who would like to attend her service and is not aware of the details, please reach out through text.

Does anyone know what these are? Once a year, for 24 hours only, we get these little bugs on our vinyl fencing. The are on our front porch, side porch and backyard fencing. They bite and they fly and, of course, bother the dogs, cats and us. We are almost positive they are not Noseeum’s. We get those all summer long but not infested like this. This is something that hatches after a heavy rain and infests for 24 hours and then we never see them again for a year. But they are EVERYWHERE. Anyone know what they are or have someone they could send this video to who might know?
