Still plenty of Appenzeller Spitzhaubin for sale. I will admit I dump the ones that didn't sell into the brooder box, and didn't check on them. I ate dinner and was asleep by 8 pm. I thought for sure with all the stress, we have lost one (packed those babies up at 6 am with hot hands, drove an hour and half to swap meet, sat outside with them for 5 hours, drove an hour and half home). However I went to check on them this morning and they are running around happy. No poppy but in sight. So thankful. Especially as I left my Svarthona chicks alone all day without checking on them. Hardy birds are the key to a great flock. Eugene did not like the Serama after raising them up. So I bid on Bardu D' Watermael eggs and won. So the hunt for the right bantam chick continues. Not doing leghorn either. They didn't fit either. This means no "zombie" chicks however I can't wait to see what Svarthona and Chamois Appenzeller Spitzhaubin hybrid will be. Chamois carry white dominant and Svarthona are fibro. So it will still be an amazing fall project. Marans flock is outside and off heat and doing amazing. We lost Crested Cream Legbar hen this spring (for no reason, probably heart related), so down to 4 ladies. However I have more beautiful chicks growing up.
