Roscoe is an older guy with the enthusiasm of a youngster! He's very affectionate and easily entertained! He loves toys and car rides, and anything that looks like an adventure! Roscoe picks up on a new routine pretty quickly and is happy to follow suit. He's not good with smaller animals, he thinks they're toys, and boy does he love toys! It's all too often we'll find a pile of toys he's snuck away into his hiding spots to save for later. He has a silly side but he also minds very well. Roscoe would do best with a family who is somewhat active and doesn't mind a big lug to cuddle! Mira and Jasper.... the new standard for the energizer bunny, and wreck it Ralph 😆 it's so good to see Mira kicking up her heels again, and so good to see Jasper making another perfect friend.

Goofing around with Jasper 😆

Jasper will literally BOUNCE into your life with enthusiasm and pure joy! This reasonably reformed junk yard dog has two speeds, snoring and PARKOUR! He's gone from eating license plates to Benebones, from shop rags to bark box toys. He traded that old VW bench seat for a cozy crate and instead of watching his back, he's watching television on the couch. He let his guard dog down, ditched the testosterone, and made a few friends! He loves a good sun bath, and doesn't mind a regular bath - but forget about wet grass (it's LAVA!)

If you're looking for miles of smiles, Jasper is your guy! Just be ready for that food bowl to turn into a hockey puck - some habits die hard. He tries to make up for it in cuddles, so far, he's winning!

Mira is feeling more herself already. She's resting and eating well, and enjoying all the special attention ♥ thanks to all who have supported this sweet girl.

We should have a final bill next week, our vet staff has been extremely busy, and typically do not send a bill home right away. I will update as soon as possible.

We should have the biopsy results back in 10 days or so, let's keep the prayers coming 🤞

Mira's surgery went well, although she's not feeling that well, she should soon.
Doc pulled out a 10lb tumor. It seemed to have doubled in a matter of days. It got angry, and got evicted.

Thanks to everyone who prayed, shared and donated. We're still waiting for a final bill and will update when available.

Until then, keep her in your thoughts, she still has quite a recovery ahead ♥

Update, she's out of surgery and doing well, I'll have more information when I pick her up!

Update, surgery is tomorrow (Friday) morning. After an ultrasound, it's difficult to tell if it's spread to her liver. Please keep her in your prayers ♥

We have some unexpected news. Mira has been diagnosed with a mass on her spleen. What I thought was originally weight gain, which did not improve, led me to believe she was having complications from her heartworm infection years ago. I took her in this morning for an x ray - to find that was not the case.
We have 3 options now.
1. Let it run it's course and keep her as comfortable as possible.
2. Euthanasia
3. Exploratory surgery

Her blood work looks good, and there is no evidence of distress on the chest x ray. So we've chose surgery, in hopes all goes well and the tumor is benign (which I understand is rare)

Mira's been in great spirits, eating well, and showing no symptoms other than a belly. Making this discovery very shocking, but also keeping us optimistic.

Now the part I hate the most, asking for help.
GK9 has throttled back over the last year, and funds are not what they were. If you're able to donate to her surgery, PayPal is the fastest way and all donations are tax deductible.
