Now I'm hearing another case of Inbreeding, this time in Missouri.
Poppy/Aitor, parents are Brother and Sister. Why am I hearing this? Why can't people breed to new lines instead of inbreeding?
Both of Poppy's parents had Double Cherry Eye. Poppy's parents never should have been bred. My efforts to rid this breed of Cherry Eye, is being reversed. by breeding into dogs carrying Cherry Eye genetics. Yes , neither Poppy nor Aitor had Cherry Eye, but the risk of re-introducing is higher, than breeding to genetics of no cherry eye. It took me 2 crosses to reduce from 40% to less than 10%. The goal should be 0%, and you're not going to get there breeding backwards.
First Grandson to Grandmother, now 1st cousins. I had high hopes that Aitor would breed to an Import out of UCEPB to continue my work. My mistake was giving dogs to people who have no interest but Breeding for Money and not health.
