Your Job With Fireline Medics:

Fireline Medics provides medical standby for wildland firefighters. Located in the Pacific Northwest in Moscow, Idaho, we contract with the federal government and dispatch personnel throughout the US. Our main coverage area encompasses the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Northern California).

Deployments are typically 14 days long. Personnel need be ready to mobilize and be traveling toward the incident scene within a few hours. Travel expenses are your responsibility however, out of area employees will be paid half their daily rate during travel time.

Fire seasons generally run mid June through October. Shifts on an incident will be 16 hours, although you are technically on call 24 hours/day as fires don't always work business hours.

Personnel will be tenting at the incident campground. You'll be responsible to provide your own personal gear such as boots and fire resistant clothing, as well as toiletries and personal items. Fireline Medics will supply a hardhat, work gloves, ear and eye protection, and fire shelter. Employees are encouraged to bring their own camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad), but we do have some rudimentary camping items available if needed.

*Payable on completion of your first fire assignment with Fireline Medics.

**If you do not currently have these fire credentials, you can obtain them online in about two weeks (excluding your field day and pack test) at onlinetraining.nwcg.gov.
