OTTO IS ADOPTED! ❤️

Some happy endings are extra special, and Otto’s is one of them. Our sweet boy has been adopted by one of the most wonderful families we could ever ask for any of our dogs, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Otto’s story began when he was found running the streets alone. He ended up at the shelter before making his way into our rescue, where he finally got the second chance he deserved. Despite everything, Otto was the sweetest boy who just needed someone to believe in him.

Today, Otto is living the most beautiful life with a family who absolutely adores him. Knowing he will never have to worry about being abandoned or unwanted again means everything to us. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better home for him.

All it takes is one person to change one dog’s life. Otto is living proof of that, and we hope his story inspires someone else to open their heart to a dog in need.

Happy forever, sweet Otto. You deserve the world! ❤️

COTTON 💔🌈

We are heartbroken to share that our sweet Cotton has passed.

At just 12 weeks old, Cotton was hit by a car. His owner never got him the medical care he needed, and his broken pelvis healed improperly as he grew. Despite everything, he learned to run and play like a normal puppy. A kind neighbor fed him and let him play with her dog. Then he wandered onto another property to play with their chickens, and he was shot with a BB gun. He lay on a porch for two days in excruciating pain before anyone helped him.

Because a kind person posted about him on Nextdoor, we found him. We rushed him to the emergency vet and said yes to every treatment that gave him a chance. He was being treated for tetanus, an incredibly rare and devastating disease in dogs. He fought so hard, but in the end, it was too much for his little body to overcome.

Cotton did not leave this world alone on that porch. He left knowing gentle hands, soft voices, and love. We want to thank Where the Tide Turns Home Rescue for stepping up to help Cotton and Shira Scott Astrof🐶🐾✍🏼🎭🎼 The Animal Rescue Mission for giving us one more shot at saving his life. We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who donated toward his care, shared his story, and fought alongside us to give him a chance. So many people came together for this little boy, and we wish more than anything that the outcome had been different.

Because of all of you, Cotton knew what it felt like to be loved and cared for, even if it was only for a short time. He deserved so much more than the life he was given, and it breaks our hearts that we couldn’t give him the future he deserved.

Cotton is only 6 months old and he is fighting for his life! We desperately need your help!

At just 12 weeks old, Cotton was hit by a car. His previous owner never got him the medical care he needed, leaving him with a broken pelvis that healed improperly as he grew. Despite everything, Cotton learned to run and play like a normal puppy.

Cotton spent much of his time visiting a kind neighbor who fed him and let him play with her dog. A few days ago, he wandered onto another neighbor’s property and tried playing with their chickens. That neighbor SHOT HIM with a BB gun.

Cotton was left lying on his owner’s porch for at least TWO DAYS in excruciating pain without medical attention. Thankfully, someone posted about him on Nextdoor, and we were able to get him to an emergency veterinarian.

Unfortunately, the BB pellet was too deeply lodged to remove, and Cotton was discharged. Last night, everything took a terrifying turn when his entire body began stiffening and he rapidly declined.

Cotton is now in critical condition, being treated for TETANUS, an incredibly rare and potentially fatal disease in dogs.

Last night, the veterinarian gave Cotton approximately a 70% chance of survival with immediate intensive treatment. Of course, we said yes. How could we give up on a puppy who has already survived so much?

We have already paid $5,528.73 toward Cotton’s veterinary care. Thanks to one incredibly generous $1,800 donation, we still need to raise $3,728.73 just to cover what we’ve already spent. Cotton remains in critical condition, and his medical bills continue to grow.

Cotton has spent nearly his entire short life suffering because of human neglect and cruelty. He deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for.

For THREE DAYS, Sasha lay dying on a sidewalk in Los Angeles while the world continued around her.

An unhoused person reportedly left her in direct sunlight with weights attached to a rope around her neck so she was stuck there. Severely injured, unable to escape the heat, and completely helpless, Sasha was left to suffer in one of the busiest cities in the country.

THREE DAYS. Think about how many people walked past her, how many cars drove by, and how many people saw a dying animal and simply continued with their day.

This is Los Angeles, and NO, this is NOT normal. The city and county governments need a complete overhaul when it comes to animal welfare and accountability. The suffering on the streets and inside overcrowded shelters reflects a system that has failed these animals over and over again.

Compassion for animals needs to be taught from a young age, especially in underserved communities where access to education, veterinary care, and animal welfare resources is limited. Children need to understand that animals feel pain, fear, and suffering just like we do. Empathy must be taught long before cruelty and neglect become normalized.

Thank God a few neighbors finally stepped up and reached out for help, because without them, Sasha could have died right there on that sidewalk. Tomorrow, we hope to have a clearer picture once we speak with her surgeon. We are desperately hoping her injuries were caused by being hit by a car rather than someone intentionally inflicting this horrific trauma on her.

Look at her face. No animal should ever endure this level of suffering. Sasha is finally receiving medical care, but we still don’t know the extent of her injuries or what it will take to save her.

She survived three days on that sidewalk, and now she deserves a fighting chance. Please help us make sure her story doesn’t end here by donating toward her emergency medical care. Every dollar matters especially because this is just the first invoice. She has many more vet visits ahead.

URGENT: INJURED HUSKY/MALAMUTE NEEDS HELP IN SOUTH LOS ANGELES.

Location: S Central Ave & E 76th Pl, Los Angeles.

This poor girl has reportedly been on the streets for several days, injured and suffering in the heat. Neighbors have been leaving food and water for her, but we’ve now been told she has stopped eating.

She is terrified and growling whenever anyone approaches her. EXPERIENCED HANDLERS ONLY, PLEASE. She is scared, injured, and likely in pain. We do not want anyone putting themselves or her in danger.

As much as we would love to bring her into Love’s Legacy Rescue, we need to assess the severity of her injuries and her level of reactivity before we can make that commitment. Right now, we know very little about her other than that she desperately needs help.

Even if getting her safely to the shelter is the only immediate option, that is better than leaving her on the streets to suffer.

We urgently need experienced trappers, handlers, or a reputable husky rescue willing to step in.

Please share this post, tag anyone who can help, and reach out immediately if you have the experience and resources to get this girl to safety.

She has already been out there for days. We don’t know how much longer she can survive like this.

Given that she’s reportedly injured, no longer eating, and growling when approached, I would also recommend requesting an urgent animal control response rather than waiting for a rescue to become available.

LITTLE WOLF HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Our sweet Little Wolf has officially found his forever family, and we couldn’t be happier for him!

Little Wolf has been through so much in his short life. After being hit by a car and suffering a devastating femur fracture, he faced a long road to recovery. On top of everything, his stomach was filled with rocks. This little guy had every reason to give up, but he never did.

Despite everything he endured, Little Wolf continued to fight, heal, and show us just how resilient he really is. He learned to navigate life on three legs and never let it slow him down.

Now, the little boy who once faced so much uncertainty has a wonderful family of his very own. He has a mom, a dad, brother and a furry brother to share his adventures with!

Knowing that Little Wolf will spend the rest of his life surrounded by love, safety, and happiness makes every difficult moment worth it.

To his amazing adopters, thank you for seeing how special our boy is and giving him the beautiful life he deserves.
