Today was the final day for ESI and ENS! Now that eyes are open and hearing will soon be happening our focus will be move more towards new experiences and textures. Today for our final ESI scent, we introduced PiRAT, my favorite sweet one-eyed barn hunt rat! I'iwi is seen in the below video giving him a good sniff! Everyone had pretty similar reactions to him with Nene being a bit more neutral. 🏴‍☠️🐭

Updates from the last few days! Everyone has their eyes open now with Nene being the last puppy to open them yesterday morning! They are all moving around better and starting to look more like puppies and less like potatoes!

ESI odors for Day 14 and 15 were Anise and Sheep Wool!

Nene 🪿: Neutral to Anise and Positive to Wool

Pueo 🦉: very positive to both with lots of licking and sniffing

'Alala 🐦‍⬛ opened his eyes today!

Puppies enjoyed a Frisbee for their ESI odor of the day! Pueo, I'iwi, and 'Alala had positive reactions while Nene had a neutral reaction. Maybe they will follow in Papa Pao's pawprints becoming Disc dogs!

Big update today 👀

I'iwi would like to show everyone his beautiful eyes!

In these last few days of ESI (we end ESI on Day 16), I like to move on from the calming and environmental type scents and introduce odors that may be connected to their future jobs/sports. So today was Birch day for our future Scent Work pups!

Nene 🪿: Positive ✅️

Pueo 🦉: Extra Positive ✅️✅️

I'iwi 🐦‍🔥: I think fell asleep so we will go with Neutral 💤

'Alala 🐦‍⬛: Neutral 😐

Today Nene passed up I'iwi as the largest puppy and is the first to hit 2 pounds!

Scent of the day was Clove, which all 4 pupps reqlly enjoyed! They are ready to take on those upper level Scent Work trials now 😂

This weekend the puppies are starting to try and find their legs and walk around! So they have some new "obstacles" in the whelping box to help them develop motor skills and strength. They have a few rolled towels under their whelping pad that form little "hills" for them tl climb over. And now have a new flower pillow to climb over and sleep on. It quickly has became a favorite nap spot for everyone!

Hulu is now spending a little more time outside of the box so I have added an elevated bed just outside so she can easily see them while getting some rest.

Odors for ESI this weekend were Rain (an essential oil from Empowered Puppy to imitate the smell of rain) and Ginger.

Manu Pups made 1 week old today! First week has flown by! I'iwi is our largest pup while 'Alala is the smallest.

Today we did Lime for our scent of the day for ESI. All pups were neutral accept for 'Alala, who as always so far had a very positive reaction.. future scent work dog in the making!

Today we snuggled some stuffies and introduced coconut as our ESI scent! Our little islanders had mixed feelings 🥥. I'iwi slept through his weights as usual and is the largest sleepy potato so far! About time to pull out the bigger scale!
