Cost of care for our dogs is a minimum of $2500/month. We have 10 dogs in the rescue. ALL of them have been with us for over 5 years! From top to bottom, left to right:
BISHOP: Owner surrender from someone who had saved him from a bad situation and couldn't keep him.
CHIP: Owner surrender from a backyard breeder when he was neglected by the owner and ended up facing euthanasia.
LYLA: Rescue to rescue transfer after she was saved from a very large hoarding situation.
FIONA: Rescue to rescue transfer after she was saved from a very large hoarding situation.
GINGER: Rescue to rescue transfer when her original rescue was facing major reorganization issues and we were asked to take her. It was supposed to be a short-term placement with the understanding that she already had a committed adopter. Here we are, five years later ..... Will likely stay with us for life or would consider transfer to a reputable rehab rescue/sanctuary.
KONA: Intake when her original rescue ghosted the fosters and then threatened to euthanize. Was adopted years ago and returned 2 years ago when the adopters' situation changed and they could no longer care for her.
LOCKE: Pull from local pound when he was 10 months old. He's now a senior, and still with us! Will either stay with us for life or would consider transfer to a reputable rehab rescue/sanctuary.
MATTHEW: Rescue to Rescue transfer when we were asked to help, in order to allow him more time for rehab and to be placed. He's been adopted and returned. Will either stay with us for life or would consider transfer to a reputable rehab rescue/sanctuary.
NOODLES: Forever foster - he will stay with us for life due to medical issues. Was a pet store refugee who we were asked to take by a veterinarian advocating for him.
ROSEY: (pictured) Originally came to us in 2015, after 10 months in Bridgeport Animal Control. Was adopted and returned in 2018 due to a family break-up. She is a forever foster in the rescue. Now 12 years old, she is dealing with several medical issues that are chronic and progressive.
Please help us continue to meet these dogs' needs!
We are closed to intakes and have been for five long years! We cannot even begin to chart a path forward until we reliably can cover the cost of care for these dogs.
As an approved 501(c)(3) public charity, all donations are tax deductible.
The is real and growing! You can assist us in being part of the solution. Please donate today!
