Alas, our time with the Notre Dame students has come to an end. We are unbelievably proud of the boys as well as our animals. We cannot wait for the program next year. Thank you to Mrs. Whitaker and the boys for gifting our dogs with Notre Dame bandannas. Go Knights!

Therapy dogs typically fall into at least one of four categories:

1. Therapeutic Visitation Dog:These dogs are household pets whose owners take to help those who are away from home or their pets due to mental or physical illness, or court order.

2. Animal-Assisted Therapy Dog:This type of therapy dog assists professional therapists in helping patients meet recovery goals, rehabilitation treatment, and regaining skills in and out of rehabilitation facilities.

3. Facility Therapy Dog: Canines are trained to work in nursing homes or other rehabilitation centers and help patients who are dealing with mental illnesses.

4. Disaster Relief Dog: This kind of therapy dog is similar to a therapeutic visitation dog and brings comfort to people who have experienced a trauma.

Maggie, Molly and Chewie on their way to Apple Rehab. Today we brought the Notre Dame students to show them how therapy dogs help people in the real world. They did so great!
