UPDATE: And then there were five…

Four of them are with us now. 💔

You may recognize this as the recent Inwood case involving 13 dogs, a kangaroo, a tortoise and a bearded dragon who were seized from a property as part of an alleged neglect case.

Four of those dogs are now in our care.

And they need us.

They need veterinary care. They need to be neutered. They need good food, patience, rehabilitation and time to heal. Most of all, they need to learn that people can be kind and that they are finally safe.

Our staff is pouring everything they have into these four dogs, and we won’t sugarcoat it. This one is heavy. Seeing the effects of severe neglect firsthand takes an emotional toll, but these dogs deserve every ounce of love and care we can give them.

Now we need our community.

You can help with their medical care and recovery through the Facebook fundraiser attached to this post, Venmo , the Donate button on our website, by stopping at the shelter or by sending a check.

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us put these four lives back together.
If you cannot donate, please share their story. Please keep these dogs and our staff in your thoughts.

Saturdays are for the boys 💙

We brought Flounder, our 2½-year-old Shepherd mix, along with three handsome Lab boys- Jagger, Cash & Elvis to Farmers Market in the Park! At almost 14 weeks old, these boys are full of puppy energy, kisses and curiosity, and they had a great time meeting everyone at the market today.

All four boys are looking for their forever homes, and the Lab puppies are also in need of fosters ASAP!
