Good afternoon, Shoshin Farm Fam! We thought it was time for a Blondie update! Blondie is doing really well here and she's brought so much joy to our family. She's learned the whole first floor of the house and we have a great daily routine. When she's outside, she's allowed to be off leash under very close supervision. Otherwise, she'll hang out in the fenced garden area with the chickens.Blondie has been on shopping trips and has a marker on her leash as well as a vest that lets people know she is blind and deaf. Blondie is very friendly, but it's a bit startling when a strange hand pets your head.
Blondie has been to the vet and the ophthalmologist a few times and is in pretty good health. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to restore her vision and because she was spayed so very late in life, she has developed mammary tumors. We're optimistic, though, because the largest tumor was removed and came back as benign. In June, she'll get her teeth cleaned and have the remaining tumors removed. Keep your fingers crossed that those are benign as well!

Good evening Shoshin Farm Fam! We love to share wonderful places, shops, and markets that we visit. Today, we visited the farmstand at Highley Homestead in Hamilton. There were so many delicious treats as well as personal and home care items. We're having friends over tomorrow and can't WAIT to dig into the brown butter brioche cinnamon rolls, sourdough bread, shallot and herb focaccia, and rosemary and Parmesan sourdough bagels. Good morning Shoshin Farm Fam! Bumper Car Blondie has been with us for 11 days and is settling in beautifully! We are so amazed by how sweet and calm she is. Since she's been here, she's been to a groomer, the vet, my office, the ophthalmologist, and two retail stores. She took everything in such stride. Most of her health prognoses are pretty good. Unfortunately, she has several mammary tumors and there's nothing we can do to restore her vision. At the end of the month, she'll get a dental cleaning and the tumors will be removed then. Hopefully, they will be benign. If they're not, Blondie will receive the best supportive care possible. We are madly in love with her already and we're so lucky the stars aligned and she joined our family! Stay tuned for more Blondie, Daisy, Sammy, and chicken updates!

No one believed us when we said we were not going to adopt while at My Furry Valentine. Well.... please join us in welcoming Blondie Roberts to the Shoshin Farm Fam. She's 14 years old, blind, deaf, but pretty spry. We had left the event and couldn't stop talking about her. Being able to give a senior, compromised dog the best final years will be our proudest honor. Blondie wasn't even scheduled to be at the event today. We sure are glad the amazing folks at Cincinnati Animal Care brought her!

Good afternoon Shoshin Farm Fam! Today, we attended My Furry Valentine, Cincinnati's amazing pet adoption event. The event is today and tomorrow at the Spooky Nook Sports complex in Hamilton. If you are thinking of adding a fuzzy member to your family, please consider adoption. If your fuzzy family is full, shelters are always in need of volunteers and donations. We're very glad we saw the booth of Veteran Companion Animal Services. This wonderful organization seeks to enrich the lives of veteran and military families through human-animal bonds. We will be looking into becoming a foster family for VCAS.
