Chico's Promise A 501(c)(3) Ohio based nonprofit inspired by the book "Chico's Promise" written in a dogs voice.

This is a real life love story of Chico, a decorated Scout Dog hero who served in the Vietnam War, saved many lives and a promise made to save 50,000 dogs. We are providing canine adoption fees to select no-kill shelters with a goal to help save 50,000 dogs in Chico's memory. Please leave a message when calling and we will return your call.

Meet the aww-inspiring rescues we’ve already helped save. From emaciated and terrified of the kennel… to adopted in Florida, then heartbreakingly returned, Nacho Libre’s journey has been a long one — 293 days in our care since 12/27/2024. He came to us skin and bones, trembling in fear, unsure if he’d ever be safe again. He found a home once, but life had other plans… and he came back to us.

We promised him we’d never give up — and we didn’t. Thanks to Chico’s Promise, this boy got his second chance, and we couldn’t be happier that Dawn and Dave, who have been such amazing nurses to him through his healing, have decided to make it official and adopt him. After over a year of waiting, Pig finally found his forever home. This sweet boy spent most of his life bouncing in and out of shelters — even abandoned to face euthanasia — before fate (and one very determined 10-year-old girl) stepped in. She began fostering Pig when no one else applied, and after a year of loving him like her own, she made it official. Because of the amazing support from Chico’s Promise, Pig went from unwanted and overlooked to cherished and home — forever.
