🐾💕 Exciting News — We Have a Fur Mom-to-Be! 💕🐾

One of our adorable canine patients recently visited Heritage Plaza Animal Hospital for an ultrasound, and we’re excited to announce that she is officially expecting! 🎉🐶

Ultrasound is one of the many advanced diagnostic tools we offer right here in our hospital. This painless, non-invasive technology allows us to see what’s happening inside your pet’s body in real time and can be used for a variety of purposes, including:

🐾 Confirming pregnancy and checking on developing puppies or kittens
🐾 Evaluating the heart and blood flow
🐾 Examining abdominal organs such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, and bladder
🐾 Investigating causes of vomiting, diarrhea, or unexplained weight loss
🐾 Detecting masses, cysts, or fluid accumulation
🐾 Assisting with certain diagnostic procedures

For this sweet girl, ultrasound gave us the exciting news that puppies are on the way! ❤️

Join us in congratulating this future fur mama as she begins her journey into motherhood. We can’t wait to meet her precious little pups in the weeks ahead!

If your pet may benefit from an ultrasound or advanced diagnostic care, call or text Heritage Plaza Animal Hospital at 405-737-4000.

Dental care is more than just fresh breath. Dental disease can impact your pet’s heart, kidneys, and overall health if left untreated.

Our dental services include exams, scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, extractions, and pain management to keep your pet comfortable and healthy.

🐾 Pet of the Month: Zara 🐾

Everyone meet sweet Zara! This adorable 7-month-old mutt is stealing hearts everywhere she goes. 💕

Zara loves just about everything, especially bacon-wrapped rawhide sticks, going on walks, and splashing around in her pool. ☀️🐶💦

Her family describes their experience at Heritage Plaza Animal Hospital in one word: FUN! They shared that they love coming to Heritage Plaza because of our very caring people, and we are so thankful to be part of Zara’s care during her first year of life.

Thank you to Zara’s family for letting us feature this sweet girl as our Pet of the Month! 🐾❤️

🐶 Have you noticed your dog’s ear suddenly looking swollen, puffy, or filled with fluid? It could be an ear hematoma (also called an aural hematoma) — and we’ve been seeing an increase in these lately at Heritage Plaza Animal Hospital.

Ear hematomas happen when blood vessels inside the ear flap rupture, often from excessive head shaking or scratching. This is commonly caused by:
• Ear infections
• Allergies
• Itchy ears or skin
• Trauma from scratching or shaking

While they may not always seem painful at first, they can become very uncomfortable and should be evaluated by a veterinarian. There are several ways ear hematomas can be treated depending on the size, severity, and underlying cause — from medications and drainage to surgical repair. The important thing is getting your pet seen so we can determine the best option for them and help prevent recurrence.

If you notice swelling, head shaking, scratching, or changes to your pet’s ears, please give us a call right away.
