Sold half of our property and the rent house. Hoping we can keep most of the animals we have left. We are going to have to sell one more mini, maybe 2, and the last quarter horse. That may make it possible for us to keep the rest.
Tough times right now but God will make a way. Prayers appreciated!

It looks like we are in for a very uncomfortable, and pricey, summer. It will cost a lot to stay cool and be difficult to enjoy a lot of the outdoors.
That means I will be staying inside during the heat of the day and enjoying a little time on the porch early morning and in the cool of the evening.

My husband recently passed from illnesses due to agent orange. As his wife I watched his afflictions grow worse every day. The VA is not only declining bills from his last few months of his life but are making it impossible for me to get any allotment now that he has passed. They do not seem to care that I will probably lose my home and not be able to survive on the social security. This is the way the government takes care of a veteran that served 22 years in the Army, did 4 tours in Vietnam, was wounded multiple times and his quality of life was minimized greatly by agent orange and he eventually died from it. I suffered as I watched his illnesses change the person I was married to for almost 31 years. What is wrong with this country that they refuse to take care of the vets and their surviving spouse ?
His failure to secure life insurance was a huge mistake but, in his defense, he thought the country he loved and defended for 22 years, would pay the medical expenses they had preapproved and provide an income for his spouse. He would be so disappointed if he could know the outcome.
God bless the veterans that kept our country safe and God help those politicians that make the final decisions.

Enjoying the ranch while we can. With my husbands death in December, the finances are cut to the limit and we may not be able to keep our home.
There are so many memories here, some good and some not so good, but it is home. We have already parted with so many of our animals and praying we can still find a way to keep some of the ones we have left.

She takes most of them straight to the auction and they go to slaughter. She did this to four of our 5 of our babies. Then she took my daughters horse to train and the horse disappeared. She still has not done anything to settle with my daughter for her horse. She is one of the worst people we have ever dealt with. It has been a nightmare for us. Knowing what happened to my babies, that I raised from birth, has torn my heart out.
I hope you can prosecute her and she will get what's coming to her. Please let me know if we can be of any help doing that.

All the big horses and donkeys are sold and in there new homes. Also several mini's are with new families and some have kiddos of their very own. It is so sad to look out and see empty pastures and I miss them every day but they have good lives ahead and we did what was best.
