Maya now Nanna needs a new home. Here’s what her Mom has to say
Hi! My name is Nanna! I’m a1 year old , 70lb Newfoundland. I’m sweet as can be and love to lay in laps and get my belly rubbed. I have a lot of energy and love to play. I play hard and can get rough at times, so I prefer to play with big dogs like me. I’m still in my puppy phase so my toys don’t last super long, and make sure not to leave any socks laying around or those might end up like my toys. I can be mischievous at times, so it’s best to keep a close eye on me so I require a lot of adult supervision. I love kids, but sometimes I get too excited and jump up to greet them and knock them over, but don’t worry I’ve been working on that and I’m getting better with the right encouragement. I do best with big dogs. I’m not so sure about cats, I’m still trying to figure those out. Chickens are my dream version of a chew toy, so I might not do well around them.
I am very intelligent and it gets me into trouble at times. I require puzzle toys to keep my fast moving brain occupied. But because I’m so smart, I know a lot of commands. Sometimes, my puppy brain kicks in and I forget them or choose not to listen, but with even more practice I’ll have it down. Give me a treat and I’ll do whatever you want.
I am up to date on all my vaccinations, I have been spayed and I have had an eye surgery and a hernia surgery. I am healthy as can be now that I got all of that taken care of. I am kennel trained, and house trained mostly. I have accidents if I’m left inside too long or when I get too excited.
I would do best in a home with other big dogs or with a family that can give me the attention and continuing training I need and a yard that’s big enough for me to run my energy out. I was raised with other big dogs around me so I love having a companion, but they have to be big like me, I don’t do well with little animals. I need a fenced in yard, because I am a notorious escape artist. I’m just curious what the outside world has to offer so please take me on lots of walks. I am fantastic on a leash.
I’ve already been re-homed once and due to my love for chickens and escaping and my parents busy schedule they want to put me into a home where I can get the supervision, attention and training I require. They’ve invested money in trainers and made sure my health is perfect but since they can’t be by my side at every minute, it’s best we find someone who can be.
I am looking for my forever home where I am safe to run and play. I want to be showered with affection and love. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving, happy and excited puppy than I’m your dog
