After a long talk with Colin, and some soul searching, I've decided that based on my experience at my current clinic, I am going to leave them and focus on my schooling and my rescue. I am looking for possibly some part-time vet asst work, but after the experiences I have had at my past two clinics, I need to take a step back and focus on what I absolutely love, which IS vet med, but also my rescue. I have let it slip to the wayside, and with the number of calls I have been getting lately, and the number of views on my FB page, I need to bring it to the forefront again.

I also need time to work on school, since I am now in my second semester and will be doing my internship after these 4 classes I have. I plan to look for either part time or volunteer work at some of the local shelters, hopefully in the medical sections. If anyone has any thoughts, openings, or connections, please let me know.

I will also be working on our Redbubble store, adding a few more designs to the Poly Paws section, as well as bringing back either Go Fund Me or Spotfund for those who wish to donate without purchasing anything. We will need some major support as we will need volunteers, either a building or a rental storefront that will allow us to house animals and workshops, plus supplies to care for the animals we have, along with medications, sanitation, etc. We also are looking for a clinic that is willing to work with us as a low income clinic to help us bring everyone up to date on shots, as well as help take care of Bobby, who is toxoplasmosa-free, but still has a rare form of coccidia (1-2 oocytes seen at the Idexx labs) and we can't get the Albon to treat him. He is dying to play with the other cats, but we can't do this until he is illness-free.

Update on Bobby, the thunderstorm kitten:

We got the results back on the f***l we sent out, and WHOO! is this boy loaded! He has toxoplasmosis (the thing they warn pregnant women about, so they don't change litter pans), coccidia (microscopic parasites that cause intestinal infections in cats), and roundworms. Poor thing was determined to be 6 weeks old and weighed 1.5 pounds at his initial weigh-in, then 1.4 at the 2nd and 3rd. He's on a host of meds, and taking them like a champ. He was sleeping all the time, not eating or drinking much, and just miserable. Now, after a few days of some heavy meds, he is up more, eating way more, and drinking more. He wants to be out of his kitten condo so bad to play with my cats, but with the nature of his condition, we can't allow that just yet. He has to test negative for all those things before we can let him free roam with the other cats. Toxoplasmosis is so easily passed from one cat to another that I just can't risk it.

Once he is negative, finished all his meds, gets all his shots, and hopefully neutered, he'll be up for adoption! Stay tuned for more updates on this little fighter. (turn video all the way up for kitten purrs!)

UPDATE: So, during our bath, I noticed 2 little peas hanging out under Meg's tail. She is a he! So, everyone meet Bobby, the quiet, but vocal when he needs to be, mentor to the Winchesters.

The kitten distribution system sent out an SOS to me early this morning in the firm of a 4-6 wk old kitten with lungs that carried her voice from way out by my car to my bedroom window. I found a kitten, not one of Foxy's, under my car, soaking wet. She's now had food and a bath and is meowing up a storm in the kitten condo. She took a nap in my arms, wrapped in a dry towel, after her bath. Keeping with the Supernatural TV show, I have named her Meg after the strong-willed demon turned good, sacrificing her life for those she loved.

Castiel and Jo got adopted Monday (Memorial Day) to a wonderful younge couple. This bonded pair (brother &sister) are 2 of the 4 kittens that Foxy had this time around as we still work with her and her other 2 kittens (Sam & Dean) on trusting us so we can capture them and adopt out the kittens and spay Foxy. Here's to the Supernatural kittens finding new homes!

Hello my dearest followers! I could really use some help here!
I am looking for a foster, preferably a foster to adopt, in the Charlotte/ Monroe area. Percival, one of the permanent residents of my rescue really needs to be rehomed for his own safety. The dominant male has been fighting him, and sadly he has suffered multiple wounds. His life outside has also led him to be FIV+, and for his safety, I cannot continue to allow him to live outside. He does well with some other cats, but preferably he would need to be in a single cat place. He has his rabies shot, and is going in to my work for a neuter and a wound recheck this coming Friday. Until I find him a home, I would be paying for his health care (I utilize my work clinic) and his food. I am a very small rescue that runs on my own dime. My clinic is in Monroe, and I live just north of Charlotte, which is why I am looking for someone in and around those locations, but I am not married to them if someone outside those areas is interested.
