As many of my longtime clients know, a little over two years ago, I stepped into the horse world and fell completely in love with it. Somewhere along the way, I found my boy, Scooter. 🐴🤍
What started as something new quickly became such a huge part of my life. Scooter has been my escape, my challenge, my joy, and the horse who has taught me more than I ever expected. If you know me personally, you know just how much this boy means to me.
This week, we received some pretty devastating news about an extensive injury Scooter has sustained. The road ahead isn't going to be easy or quick. It will require a lot of time, patience, rehabilitation, and treatments that I will personally need to provide twice a day.
Right now, we're holding onto hope and doing everything we possibly can to give him the best chance at the outcome we're praying for.
If you know me, you also know that I tend to carry a lot. I'm a wife. A mom. A homeschool teacher. A children's pastor. A business owner. And most days, I'm the person behind nearly every moving piece of this business.
On top of all of that, we're in the middle of one of the biggest transitions our business has ever taken on as we work toward opening our new facility.
And now, my boy needs me too.
So, for the time being, I've made the difficult decision to pause accepting new clients.
My current clients and the pups already entrusted to my care will continue to be my priority.
I never want this business to become about how many dogs I can fit into a schedule. It has always been about loving your pups like they're my own and providing the personal, homestyle care that you trusted me for in the first place.
Right now, I need to make room.
Room to continue loving and caring for your pups well. Room to get our new facility up and running. Room to be present for my family. And room to fight alongside Scooter and give him every opportunity I possibly can to heal.
I don't know exactly what the road ahead looks like. But I do know that sometimes life asks us to slow down, rearrange our priorities, and pour our energy into the things that need us most.
Right now, that's what I'm choosing to do.
To every person who has supported this little business, trusted me with your babies, cheered us on through this expansion, and loved Scooter right alongside me—thank you. Your patience, grace, prayers, and understanding during this season mean more to me than I can put into words.
This isn't goodbye to new clients. It's just a pause while I take care of what's already in my hands—and take care of a very special horse who has such a huge piece of my heart. 🤍🐴🐾
We're hopeful. We're praying. And we're going to give it everything we've got.
Blessings,
Haylee
