💚 SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT – RANGO & MAPLE 💚

Meet Rango and Maple, two incredible bearded dragons looking for patient, loving forever homes.

🦎 Rango is an approximately 5-year-old Red Monster Leatherback Bearded Dragon. He came to Emerald Rain Exotics suffering from severe Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) after experiencing improper husbandry. While the damage is permanent, Rango has an amazing spirit and absolutely loves life. Because of his MBD, he has difficulty chewing larger food items, so all of his greens need to be chopped into very small pieces. He eats well with this simple accommodation and enjoys spending time basking and exploring.

🦎 Maple is an approximately 10-month-old Normal Morph female Bearded Dragon who also came to us with severe Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD), along with some lingering neurological issues. Like Rango, her greens need to be cut into very small pieces to help her eat comfortably. Maple has made incredible progress through rehabilitation and continues to improve every day. She is curious, sweet, and has a lot of personality packed into her tiny body.

❤️ Both of these dragons have overcome so much, and they deserve homes where they will be loved and cared for for the rest of their lives. Their conditions are manageable, but they do require keepers who understand the commitment of caring for special needs reptiles.

We know adopting a special needs animal isn’t for everyone, but for the right person, it is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable. These two have already fought so hard for a second chance—we just need to find the people willing to give it to them.

Important Update Regarding Payments

Effective immediately, Emerald Rain Exotics will require payment in full upfront for all services before they are scheduled or provided.

This includes all third-party services we coordinate on your behalf, including:
🐾 Veterinary care
🕊️ Cremation services
🌿 Burial services
…and any other services that require us to pay another provider.

Unfortunately, we have had situations where we have been left covering costs ourselves, and as a nonprofit rescue, that is simply not sustainable. This policy ensures we can continue helping animals without placing the financial burden on the rescue.

Emerald Rain Exotics currently has two adult male bearded dragons looking for their forever homes! 🏡

🦎 Male #1: Approximately 3–5 years old. He is in excellent condition, eats great, and is doing very well! He would benefit from some extra one-on-one handling time to help him become more comfortable and confident with being handled.

🦎 Male #2: Approximately 8–10 years old. This sweet older gentleman is also in excellent condition, has a great appetite, and loves being handled! He would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a calm, interactive bearded dragon. ❤️

Both boys are healthy-looking, eating great, and ready to find families of their own. They each have their own personality, but both have the potential to make wonderful companions!

🦎 Emerald Rain Exotics – Special Adoption Announcement 🦎

After a long journey of rehabilitation, we are officially opening applications for long-term placement or adoption for two of our very special bearded dragons.

These are NOT beginner reptiles. We are looking for experienced, knowledgeable keepers who understand proper bearded dragon husbandry and are prepared to care for reptiles with special needs.

Both Rango and Maple have been with Emerald Rain Exotics for a long time. We’ve invested countless hours into their rehabilitation, veterinary care, and daily treatment. They have made incredible progress, and we’ve finally reached the point where we feel comfortable allowing them to move into the right forever home.

These two have touched our hearts in ways we can’t describe, and we know they’re going to be an incredible blessing to the people lucky enough to adopt them.

To help offset a portion of the extensive medical care and treatment they’ve received, both dragons will have an adoption fee. This is not about making money—it simply helps us continue rescuing and rehabilitating reptiles in need.
