What a beautiful day it was today! Today’s vaccine clinic couldn’t have been better. We had such an amazing time, amazing weather, and an AMAZING turnout.

We saw around 450 pets today!!!

Talk about impact!

Today, our staff along side some wonderfully dedicated APL volunteers made impact beyond giving vaccines. The vaccines we gave today will absolutely prevent some nasty diseases, but these vaccines do more.

They will help support housing security for pets to stay with their people in places that require up to date vaccines.

They will allow dogs that desperately need groomed to get to the groomer and relieve suffering from those darned mats.

They will allow pets to visit elderly owners in nursing homes who desperately miss their furry companions.

By saving money on these vaccines, owners can allocate resources to funds for other medical care for their pets.

And maybe most importantly, these vaccines helped bridge a gap in access to vet care and build trust. These events get people and their pets closer to vet care so we can be there when they need us.

What a great day.

More exciting news!

We are over the moon excited to introduce you to our new veterinarian, Dr. Abigail Harris.

Dr. Harris earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Veterinary Animal Sciences and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University, graduating in May 2022. Following veterinary school, she completed a large animal internship in North Carolina before moving to Indiana in 2023, where she has been practicing large animal medicine.

Over the past three years, Dr. Harris has cared for horses and small ruminants, and she brings that same dedication and expertise to companion animal care. She is especially passionate about internal medicine and is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to every patient—no matter their size. She is excited to begin serving the dogs and cats of the Middletown community and making a meaningful impact in their lives.

Outside of work, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with her husband, and their yellow lab, Hazel. In her free time, she loves reading, traveling, gardening and baking sourdough bread.

Dr. Harris will begin seeing appointments on April 14th and can’t wait to meet you and your pets!
