FREE TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) Day on May 3, 2025 for Middletown Community Cats!
WHAT: On May 3, Middletown Animal Hospital will be hosting a spay and neuter clinic for the unowned, free-roaming community cats of Middletown with support from our town council. Up to 50 cats will receive a spay or neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, ear tip, pain medication, and flea/tick medication.
WHEN: All cats will be dropped off at Middletown Animal Hospital the evening of May 2 in a humane live trap, to ensure safe handling and monitoring. Cats should be picked up the evening of May 3 after surgery and returned to the original trapping location once they are alert, oriented, and ambulatory.
WHERE: Cats should be trapped in Middletown only, and surgeries will be performed at Middletown Animal Hospital.
WHO: Trapping and transporting of these cats will be done by YOU, the public. Surgeries will be performed by Middletown Animal Hospital.
WHY: We believe that TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) is the most humane and effective way to control free-roaming cat populations.
