"Blaze Alan was a true puppy at heart even in the end. I got him when he was just a puppy and starting my senior year of high school. It took me years on convincing to even be able to get a dog and Blaze stole my heart right away. His unconditional love, playfulness and protectiveness made him a true soulmate. He watched me grow up from teen to adult, watched me bring children into this world and watched them grow. He brought so much life, love and laughter. He will be forever missed and no dog could ever take his place. He meant the world to us. We love you so much Blaze!"

As the weather starts to warm up, creating a memorial garden for your pet can be a heartfelt way to keep their memory alive. You could plant flowers that bring back fond memories of them or even grow some veggies you loved sharing together. Adding a memorial stone can also be a nice touch to honor your beloved pet. A memorial garden can be a special way to reflect on memories and the joy they brought into your life.

"She was a spoiled German Shorthaired Pointer. She was the only dog I have ever had that hated belly rubs and would talk back to you when you tried to discipline her. I always said she had ADHA because of all of the energy. She loved camping, hiking, boating and her favorite was swimming. We will miss her dearly."

"We rescued Sunny from an agency that just brought her to the US from Iran in Oct 2019. I remember seeing her get off the van, looking so scared & I felt instantly that we needed to save her. Which we did! She had a rough life before us, so we made sure to pamper her & make her the princess! She took the role seriously from the start. We don’t know how old she actually was but she had my heart from the beginning. She was the sweetest little girl & we miss her dearly!”

"On May 29, 2025, our beloved Endora peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge after a short battle with cancer. We adopted Endora and her brother Jerry from Petco thirteen years ago when we lived in Houston - they were the last two of their litter to be adopted! Endora was a sweet, cuddly girl who converted her favorite human into a cat person. She made the best biscuits, had a hilarious sense of humor, and was always ready for nap time. She was a laid back girl, Easy E, even when we brought dogs into the home. We hope you have unlimited spring toys and never have to be scared of the vacuum again. We’ll miss you, our Big Miss.”

We are often asked if Dr. Liskey provides any memorial items for pets and their families for her visits. The answer to this is definitely yes. If desired, complimentary ink paw and/or nose prints, as well as a fur clipping, are included with each visit. Add-on services are available for an additional fee, including things like clay paw or nose prints (framed or unframed). These items can be a treasured keepsake, preserving the memory of your beloved pet for years to come.

Taking care of a sick and dying pet can take a huge toll, and can involve rearranging your entire life to adjust to the needs of your pet, all at a time when you are the most emotional and exhausted. The constant demands of managing medical treatments, monitoring symptoms, and coping with the uncertainty of a pet’s condition can cause feelings of sadness, exhaustion, guilt, and anxiety. This is called caregiver stress and it's normal.
