Forever Remembered 🐾🌈

Baylee
5/15/2012-11/3/2025

"From the moment we met her, Baylee filled our home with love. She was an energetic Labrador-Doberman mix rescued as a newborn from a box on the side of I-81. She turned a chance rescue into 13.5 years of joy. We adopted her as newlyweds and she became the first new member of our growing family. Her energy, loyalty, and gentle heart were infectious as she helped us raise 3 children. She lived to play fetch, she could play for hours until we made her rest. Even after being hit by a truck at 4 years old, she showed incredible strength and resilience, recovering fully and never losing her playful spirit even till her last day. She also loved ice cream, canned tuna, snow, and any chance to splash in the water (even though she couldn't swim 😂). Even in her later years, she carried the same puppy-like spirit she had the day we met her. 13.5 years was not enough, but every moment with her was a gift. We will honor her memory by rescuing another dog, just as she was once rescued. We love and miss you so much Baylee!"

As the temperatures drop, here's a suggestion on how to honor your pet – consider creating a memorial blanket. You could embroider their name on their cherished blanket or craft a patchwork quilt using a few of their favorite blankets. Some companies even allow you to upload photos of your pet to be printed on blankets. Whichever way you choose, a memorial blanket can provide warmth and comfort while reminiscing about your beloved pet in the chilly seasons.

Sasha
5/11/2013-10/27/2025

"Our Beloved Sasha,
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for ALL your LOVE, LOYALTY, COMPANIONSHIP, PROTECTION, INSPIRATION, & ENTERTAINMENT for the past 12 1/2 years. It has been an absolute pleasure having you as a part of our family.
From day one you were silly, corky, sassy and crazy. There was never a dull moment between the entertainment and challenges along the way especially after our little boy came along. You brought joy, smiles, giggles, protection, and love to him that no one else could. With all this you have helped us to grow as individuals and as a family.
Time is NEVER long enough but we will FOREVER be grateful that you got to spend your lifetime with us and were loved beyond words. We will cherish all the beautiful memories we made together. You left paw prints on our hearts and we are forever changed. 🐾
Until we are reunited, run wild and free our sweet baby girl. We love you FOREVER and ALWAYS Sasha! (Sashy, Squashy, Stinx, Kenny) ❤️🧡💛💙💚💜🩷"

“Sunsets are loved because they vanish. Flowers are loved because they go. The dogs of the field and the cats of the kitchen are loved because soon they must depart. These are not the sole reasons, but at the heart of morning welcomes and afternoon laughters is the promise of farewell. In the gray muzzle of an old dog we see goodbye. In the tired face of an old friend we read long journeys beyond returns.”

Sky
9/11/2017-9/5/2025

"Sky, or “wuppy” as we like to call her, because she was always a wiggle puppy, was the best dog our family could’ve been blessed with. From the moment me met her, we knew she was meant for us. Her love for destroying toys, and doing zoomies kept us very busy. She loved carrying around her blankie and brought it over to anyone she wanted to play with, until she got tired and then tucked her self in to sleep. She was always bathing herself in the sun, and loved watching the birds, or chasing squirrels. She loved cuddling and being with her people at all times. She loved her car rides and going to her favorite pet stores, where they always gave her snacks. She loved food, especially her cheeses. She had a ferocious bark that would set off car alarms and the most whiny and pathetic whimper when she was trying talking to us. She loved butt scratches and belly rubs, and always wanted to have her paw held. Her last few days were spent doing all of her favorite things, and we have those photos and videos that we will cherish forever. She crossed the rainbow bridge surrounded by her whole family. She was taken from this earth way too soon and has left this massive hole in our hearts. We miss you and love you Sky. Until we meet again our sweet girl."

The first week of November is National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation week, where we celebrate and honor the work that shelters and rescues due for pets in our community. If your beloved companion came from a shelter or rescue, this week you might consider volunteering at a nearby animal shelter, making a donation to a charity that holds significance for you in their name, or bringing treats (for humans or the animals in their care!) to the organization that cared for your beloved companion.

Forever Remembered 🐾🌈

Molly
September 26, 2025

"Molly was born in the desert wilderness of New Mexico and was originally a village dog to a Navajo reservation. After getting into some trouble with a porcupine, Molly was rescued and nursed back to health by Rae Sanchez, who worked at a local wild canid rescue. Already an adult, she spent another 14 years with her new family. She never lost her wild spirit but was incredibly good mannered, friendly, and nurturing to all people and other animals. Molly ultimately developed cognitive decline at the ripe old age of 16 years. She was loved beyond measure and will be missed forever."

Swee'Pea
3/21/2007-9/11/2025

"What can we say about Swee’Pea? Well, she lived up to her name as the sweetest and kindest cat we ever had the pleasure of knowing. She had a feisty streak when it came to cuddles with her favorite humans. If there was a lap, she would fit! She was a gift to us a few years after we were married, and was with us through four moves across four states, two other cats, and two kids. We’re glad our kids got to know her and the joy that pets bring into our lives, even as we cry over losing her. She was loved and loved us back unconditionally, and is dearly missed. You did good, sweet girl."

We often talk about how journaling supports mental health and healing—but in the depths of grief, knowing where to start can be the hardest part.

If you've recently said goodbye to a beloved companion, here are a few gentle prompts to help you put pen to paper:

• Who can you turn to for support right now?
• What does comfort look like for you today?
• List 5 ways you can be kind to yourself today.
• What brings you strength when you feel overwhelmed?
• What did your pet teach you about yourself—or about life?

There’s no right way to grieve, but however you process your feelings, know you’re not alone.
