Blue Line K9 is a military and law enforcement veteran owned dog training business dedicated to developing, preserving, and using a canine's natural instincts, intelligence, and ease of control to perform meaningful, functional tasks for their owners. Our goal is to maximizing the social, family orientation through, obedience, sports, and practical application of dog training. In addition we evaluate a canine's working ability while maintaining and improving breeding stock to conform to the breed's original purpose and function.

Does your dog bring the ball back—then refuse to let go? 🎾

Letting go can become part of the game when the dog learns that releasing one ball creates an opportunity for another.

In this preview, I discuss how habituation fits into the process, how I use two balls to develop the trade, and why I establish the behavior before adding a verbal command.

I also cover when to layer in a remote collar for negative reinforcement: the dog learns that releasing turns off the stimulation. That step depends on a clear foundation and careful timing.

After a busy WDA trial weekend, we’re taking October off from protection training. Then we’re getting back to work with four winter training days!

Meet your trainer: Jacob Fowler, owner of Fowler K9 Academy, is a military veteran, former law enforcement dual-purpose patrol K9 handler, and WDA Level II decoy. He has earned 14 obedience and protection titles across five dogs, bringing experience in training, handling, and decoy work to help teams progress toward their goals.

Training will take place at our outdoor field or an indoor offsite location, depending on weather. Locations, start times, and audit pricing will be announced.

Three days of working dogs, dedicated handlers, and hard-earned results at Fowler K9 Academy! 🐾🏆

Our 6th Annual Working Dogs of America, Corp. Trial weekend and Sunday Western Regional Trial brought together:

▪️ 27 competing dogs and handler-dog teams
▪️ 23 handlers
▪️ 41 obedience performances
▪️ 52 titles—36 obedience titles, including FO, and 16 combined obedience/protection titles

That’s 32 titles at the local trial and 20 at Sunday’s Western Regional Trial!
