🤠🥞 A HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO COWBOY COLAS! 🥤✨

Yesterday, the incredible team from Cowboy Colas rolled out to the shelter and treated our staff to a delicious free breakfast and refreshing drinks—purely out of the kindness of their hearts! 💙

Working in animal welfare takes a lot of energy, and a surprise gesture like this means the world to our team. But the sweet surprises didn't stop there... they even treated one of our long-term dogs, Paige, to her very own mini pancake! 🥞🐶 (Safe to say, she gave it a 10/10 tail-wag rating!)

Community partners like Cowboy Colas remind us how lucky we are to have such caring people in our corner.

🤠 Show them some love back: Next time you see the Cowboy Colas truck out and about, be sure to grab a drink and a bite, and thank them for supporting local shelters!

💡 A: No, we do not perform behavioral euthanasia. 💙

Every animal is unique, and we do everything possible to set our pets up for success! To keep our staff, volunteers, and community safe, all animals complete a behavioral assessment before entering our shelter so we can ensure we have the right resources to support them.

What about medical euthanasia? We only consider euthanasia for severe medical conditions or quality-of-life reasons—and only when humanely necessary under the strict guidance of a licensed veterinarian. 🩺❤️

• Nicolette – Loved deeply while battling a congenital heart defect.
• Star – Endured severe internal damage from foreign bodies ingested before coming to us.
• Coin – Fought bravely against FIP and liver failure.
• Dagwood – Comforted through his fight with Panleukopenia.
• Rowan – Rested peacefully after struggling with severe terminal illness and tumors.

They were deeply cherished by our shelter family until the very end. Rest in peace, sweet friends. 🐾✨❤️

We have a massive update on Freesia: She is officially ready to start meeting potential adopters! 🥳🐾

When Freesia first entered training with Whiskey Tango Unleashed, she was carrying a lot of uncertainty. But thanks to dedication, daily structure, and patience, she has blossomed into a total superstar! Her trainer shared a glowing progress report, and her transformation is nothing short of inspiring. 🥹✨

Why Freesia is the total package:
• 🛋️ Mastered the Art of Chilling: Her biggest growth area was learning how to switch "off." She now loves to settle in, relax, and soak up cozy cuddle time.
• 🎓 A Top Student: She has fantastic house manners, is fully crate trained, and is sharpening her recall and obedience daily.
• ⚽ Built for Fun & Sports: She’s an athletic, eager partner who has excelled at scent work, Fast CAT, and dock diving!

🚨 We will not be conducting any dog adoptions from Thursday, August 27th through Sunday, August 30th.🚨

While adoptions are briefly on pause, it's for an amazing reason! 🥁🥁🥁

We are so fortunate to be hosting Dogs Playing for Life, who will be conducting an intensive training program for our staff and volunteers. 🥳🎉

They are teaching us advanced, safe techniques for running playgroups to reduce shelter stress and elevate our dogs' mental and physical well-being while they wait for their forever homes! ⚽🐾

🥹❤️ HAPPY TAILS: DEXTER’S MIRACLE RECOVERY! ❤️🥹

Remember Dexter? He came to us with a heartbreaking past—believed to have been used as a bait dog before he was hit by a car, requiring emergency surgery just to move his organs back into place.

Despite everything he endured, his spirit was never broken. We are overjoyed to share that Dexter has made a 100% full recovery—and it gets even better! His incredible foster family fell head-over-heels in love with him and made it official... DEXTER IS ADOPTED! 🎉✨️

Through every painful step of his healing journey, Dexter remained the sweetest, most forgiving boy whose tail never stopped wagging. Now, he’s living his best life, safe and cherished forever by the family who nursed him back to health. 🏠🐶

Thank you to our medical team, our partnered veterinary hospitals, his foster family, and everyone who donated toward his emergency care to give this brave boy the life he always deserved! Have a wonderful life, Dexter! 🐾💙
