With over 30 years combined in the business Michael and Elizabeth Murphy make a once in a lifetime team. Growing up around the horses Mike learned first hand from his father the hard work and dedication it takes to be in the forefront of this industry. He took all his father instilled in him and went to work for the late Rick Stevens and Mike Richardson. The wisdom, experience, and knowledge Michael gained from these two world class trainers fueled his passion for the sport.
Coming from a childhood where she was raised around the Arabian horse. Elizabeth quickly found herself under the guidance of her grandfather and Aunt. Soaking in all that she could from her family she nurtured her natural talent and love for the horses. Training horses and teaching lessons Liz found herself running her grandfathers farm, Char-Mar Arabians, at a young age. It wasn’t until fate brought Michael into liz’s Grandfather’s farm, looking for a stall, that the two would combined their talents.
Fourteen years later the two are the owners/trainers/instructors of Legacy Stable at Char-Mar; where family legacy, passion, and dedication are the foundation for this sucessful duo. With multiple World and Grand National titles to their names it’s when they are running to decorate their clients with a ribbon that you’ll see the biggest smile on their faces.
