The saddle waits, the stalls are clean,
But school bells ring, a different scene.
Books and pencils fill my pack,
Though I dream of riding back.

Hay-sweet mornings, soft warm muzzles,
Trading reins for math-time puzzles.
Though I’ll miss the barn each day,
My horsey heart won’t fade away.

When homework’s done and lessons through,
I’ll hurry back to muck and groom too.
School by day, the barn by night,
Two worlds that make my spirit light.
