Camp Cavy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit guinea pig rescue located in Northwest Indiana. At Camp Cavy we strive to find loving, caring homes for all guinea pigs.

We operate utilizing foster homes, our primary location is in Michigan City IN.

Meet Clarence! Clarence came to Camp Cavy when he lost his cagemate and stopped eating. His owners were concerned for him so they reached out to see if I had a single male piggy he could be put with. As luck would have it, I did. They were immediately the best of friends but I soon noticed something was wrong with Clarence. I suspected overgrown teeth from his little hunger strike at his former home. Today he had a surgery to fix his teeth. He's alone in a hospital cage in my living room so I can watch him very carefully with his eating and pooping. He has not stopped eating veggies since we got home 5 hours ago.

Good evening, friends. My name is Peanut and I just arrived here at Camp Cavy. My new mom here said I have to see the vet because I have something called Bumblefoot and she needs the vet to tell her if I am a boy or a girl. Believe it or not, she can't tell 😅. Anyway, now onto the important stuff. My piggy neighbors tell me that we get treats after our fleece gets changed, but we have a small problem. Mom put the last of the treats into the treat container. She would like to know if anyone wants to send treats to us so fleece change day can continue to be a fun event. Rumor has it, all the other piggies already know to expect treats and barely let mom finish putting the cage together before they start begging. She gives us Oxbow treats and the address is 203 Raven Drive Trail Creek, IN 46360. Sometimes the city autopopulates to Michigan City and that's okay. Thank you in advance. I am looking forward to fleece change day so I can experience the treats.

Good evening! My name is Reba and my sister and I came to Camp Cavy about 2 months ago. I have developed a condition called "pyometra" and the nice Vet lady said I need to be spayed. The estimate for my procedure is very expensive. If you'd like to donate you can send funds to $CampCavy on cash app, or to [email protected] on PayPal. PayPal charges a fee, so cash app is preferred, if possible. Thank you in advance and I will give an update on how I am doing after my surgery Friday.

I'm a little late in posting these final gifts from Secret Santas at The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Project. These all arrived anonymously. Thank you to the Santas who sent these very much needed supplies. 😘 There was one other delivery that I got a pic of but then accidentally deleted it. 🤦‍♀️ My apologies to the Santa whose generosity did not get acknowledged. Anyone who knows me well, knows I am often terrible with technology.

We received more gifts from Secret Santas at The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Project The treats and willow balls are from Ann; the hay and food did not include a name. Thank you so much, from all the piggies at Camp Cavy.
