Our Zoo Society board members are passionate about supporting animals, but our commitment to this community goes beyond the zoo. ❤️

A couple of our board members are volunteering today at the Sammy Strong Benefit Ride & Family Cookout supporting Deputy Jon “Sammy” Samuelson and his family during his recovery.

If you’re looking for a way to show your support, come out, and help rally around Deputy Samuelson and his family. Every meal, raffle ticket and donation helps support the family during the road ahead.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by South Bend Chocolate Cafe-MC Lighthouse Place yesterday and supported our Zoological Society Giveback Fundraiser Day! 🙉

Because of your sweet tooth and generous support, we raised over $400 for the Washington Park Zoo! Every purchase helps us continue supporting the animals, conservation efforts, and special projects at the zoo. 🦁

Our board members had a blast meeting so many of you, sharing what the Michigan City Zoological Society is all about, and enjoying some incredible treats along the way. 😋

This morning a few of our board members came out to help kick off our Giveback Fundraiser Day with South Bend Chocolate Cafe-MC Lighthouse Place at the Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets.

Today 20% of 𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑹𝒀 𝑷𝑼𝑹𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑺𝑬 will be donated to the Michigan City Zoological Society and help support the animals at Washington Park Zoo.

Come out and grab a bite, an ice cream, a sweet treat or a refreshing beverage knowing that you’re helping make a difference and support all the animals we know and love 💙🦁🦅🐝🐐🦚🦦

🚤 Race Week is here and today is Kids Day! 🎉

If you’re planning a visit to Washington Park Zoo this week, here’s what you need to know!

🎨 Kids Day runs from 10 AM to 4 PM at the zoo with FREE face painting, plus kids can receive a $10 vendor voucher to use during tonight’s Movie Night festivities. Families can also visit the HEROES Museum between 10 AM and 4 PM as part of today’s activities.

🍿 Then head to Millennium Plaza tonight for Movie Night:
• Vendors open at 6 PM
• Hoppers starts at 8 PM

🚧 Parking Notice: Due to the Great Lakes Grand Prix Boat Races, parking near the zoo will be limited throughout the week. The zoo’s main parking lot will be closed Wednesday, July 29 through Sunday, August 2. Limited parking will be available in Fedders Alley while spaces last.

🚌 Free shuttle service will run from Blue Chip Casino to Washington Park throughout the weekend, making it easy to get to all the Race Week fun.
