Can you imagine being sent, at age 16, to trail a herd of 5,000 steers from North Texas to Kansas City? The American Quarter Horse Journal’s editor emeritus, 𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, recounts the tale of three teens who took on immense responsibilities when Texas cattle country was in its infancy. 𝗧𝗼𝗺 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿, “𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗸” 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁 and 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗱 helped establish and manage some of the biggest ranches in the region.

Cowboy is a AQHA 2006 Model Gelding standing 15.3. Cowboy is an all around fantastic mount with the looks and the handle to go with him.

Cowboy would be an amazing addition to any lesson program, youth or 4-H horse, husband horse, or just a great ranch gelding to have around. Cowboy is easy to ride and has a reiners stop. You could easily throw slides on have some fun working some reining maneuvers. Cowboy has been ranched on, roped off of, tracks a cow, neck reins, soft in his cues, and a comfortable walk, trot, and lope. Cowboy can teach someone the basics or be a step up for an aspiring ranch youth or novice with a trainer. Cowboy has been extensively trail ridden for the past few years but prefers the luxury of arena work, and would benefit from a consistent work schedule to keep him feeling and performing his best. Cowboy loves to have a job and a person to love on, his kind face and sweet demeanor will capture anyones heart. There’s so much to love about this guy.

Cowboy stands tied, picks up all four feet, loads/unloads in a trailer, great for farrier, vet, chiro.
