Giant Schnauzer Guard Dog: The Truth Before You Get One

Schnauzer Dog Breed Guide: Miniature vs Standard vs Giant Schnauzer

The Schnauzer may look like a funny little bearded dog, but that beard hides a serious working mind. In this video, we break down the real Schnauzer character: the old German ratter, the alert family watchdog, the stubborn problem-solver, and the three sizes from Miniature to Giant. You'll also hear the true story of Sissy, the little Schnauzer who found her way to the hospital where her owner was recovering.

Cute beard, sharp brain, serious attitude - is the Schnauzer right for you?

No he does not wear this every time.. just when I need really easy clean up. If you saw the mess he makes all over himself and the surrounding area with raw meat chunks you would be stunned. But alas, this is the life of a soft-coated Giant and the hair that absorbs anything nearby it lol.

Meet Terry, our Giant Schnauzer! 🐺

His looks match his character. He’s a funny dog with so much personality, and he certainly knows who he likes! But once Terry loves you, you’ll quickly realise he’s a big softy deep down.

When it comes to work, though, he’s a different dog. Serious, enthusiastic and always ready to get stuck into something together. He absolutely loves having a job to do.

His ears will tell you which way the wind is blowing, but other than that, he makes a fantastic family dog. Loving, loyal and full of character.

A true wolf in sheep’s clothing. 🐺

How Sad… This sweet Giant Schnauzer was surrendered by his owner at the shelter. He stood there for the longest time—first watching them walk away, then waiting patiently for them to come back. But they never did.

The part that broke everyone’s heart was what happened next.

This loyal Giant Schnauzer kept returning to the window.

Again and again, he stood up on his back legs, rested his front paws against the glass, and searched every passing car with hopeful eyes.

Every engine that pulled into the parking lot made his ears perk up.

Every set of footsteps made his tail give the tiniest wag.

He truly believed his family was coming back for him.

But the door never opened.

The people he loved never returned.

Shelter staff said he spent days waiting by that same window, refusing to let go of hope.

Dogs don’t understand excuses.

They don’t understand why they’re left behind.

They only know love, loyalty, and waiting.

No dog deserves to have their heart broken like this.

If you choose to bring a dog into your life, remember—they don’t see you as just part of their world.

You become their entire world.

❤️ Every shelter dog deserves a second chance. Adopt. Don’t shop.

Hello there! This is our honest (NOT SPONSORED) review of the only toys my Giant Schnauzers didn't destroy because I realised that ...

almost all dog toys are a waste of money especially if you live with Giant Schnauzers like Arny and Sydney

After 5 years of testing, destroying, and occasionally loving toys, we've finally found two dog toys that actually survive our big boys for months.

What really works for our giant dogs aka aggressive chewers:

What toys work for your dogs?

Have you found anything indestructible?

Let me know in the comments.

Big thanks to whoever recommended this football tennis football tennis ball shaped pet dog toys—my dog and I owe you big time! 🐾 He usually turns every new toy into confetti within a day, so I wasn't expecting much. Then this football tennis ball shaped pet dog toys showed up, and I honestly thought, "No way this thing lasts."Fast forward a month, and it's still going strong. Now he carries it everywhere like it's his most prized possession. I never thought a toy could outlast my little destroyer, but here we are.

Thanks for proving me wrong! 😂💙
