Well after 3 years the Grand Slam and Royal Slam are finished. The Eastern turkey were our nemesis but we got it done in Maine. Great weather, great company and a great successful hunt!! Thanks Tony Monzingo for being a great hunting partner !!!

Tonight we had a first for Big Water Taxidermy... Most of you probably know but I’ve been a volunteer firefighter for about the last 10 years. Tonight we were paged to a structure fire that was fully engulfed. As we got the fire out and we were walking through the house on a heat check I came to a room that had a lot of this families belongings.I turned and looked up on the wall to see a shoulder mount of a deer and a euro mount of another was hanging on the wall. We mounted these deer 4-5 years ago. It brought many emotions to me knowing that they had those mounts already hanging in a house they had just begun to renovate. Please help me send many prayers to the family as they go through these hard times! I work with a great group of men on the department here who strive to serve our community through thick and thin! God bless you all!!

What a fantastic trip!! Rifle Collinsworth, Brian Franks, Calvin Franks & I traveled to Guatemala for another bucket list trip of Sailfish, Marlin and Mahi Mahi The billfish were all catch and release but the Mahi were delicious!! Totals were 26 sailfish, 1 blue Marlin and 12 Mahi. Thanks Casa Vieja Lodge & David Salazar for a grand time!!! Service was tremendous!! Give them a call or see them at their booth at Dallas Safari Club!!

Well once again we hopped on a plane and hunted another beautiful bird in deep Mexico!! It was another successful hunt towards our Grand Slam of the turkey species!! This is the Gould’s turkey with its notable white color. They didn’t want to cooperate fully but we scored. Onward to the Eastern turkey next!!!

Two turkeys with 2 turkeys! Thanks to Tony Monzingo for another great hunt. We have been hunting together for over 40 years!! Hunting is not about killing, it is sharing an adventure amongst Mother Nature and building memories with friends. And Tony is a great one!!!
