This morning we had a wonderful Caesarian. Luna is recovering well and her 5 puppies are healthy and nursing from mom. We had been monitoring Luna’s progesterone levels since last week to check if they drop. After conception, progesterone levels stay high throughout the entire pregnancy to support the uterine environment.
Once it’s at 2 or below we knew that labor would start soon, therefore we scheduled Caesarian for this morning. Congratulations to the mama and her wonderful owner who has been so patient and caring throughout the process.

Foreign bodies! One of our most common cases. This sweet cat named Moshi ate a piece of rubber toy. We typically perform a physical exam and recommend imaging, such as X-rays or ultrasound, to locate the foreign body. In some cases, endoscopy may be used to retrieve the object, while surgery might be required for more complicated cases or if the object is in a difficult-to-reach area. In this case surgery was the approach. She is doing great and healing well.

Diana is the latest of our employees that got accepted along with Sonia Rodríguez who’s currently in the program and Dr.Ana Pernas who recently graduated from University of Florida.
