As Hurricane Milton approaches and is expected to make landfall as a catastrophic category 4 status, it’s important to discuss how to prepare our pets for the storm.

First, ensure your pets have collars with ID tags. Keep in mind that GPS trackers may not function properly if the power goes out.

If you don’t have collars and tags, consider writing your phone number with a permanent marker on your pet’s belly as a temporary measure.

If your pet is microchipped, please take a moment to update your contact information now to avoid any issues later.

Make sure to bring all pets indoors. It’s crucial not to leave any animals outside, and avoid tying up your dog or leaving them in a crate unattended. A loose pet is often safer than one that can’t escape or protect itself.

Stock up on enough pet food to last at least a week, and store it in a high place to prevent flooding damage.

Have carriers and leashes readily accessible, and keep them on elevated surfaces like tables or countertops in case of a flooding emergency.

Can we get a few likes for our amazing grooming apprentice Reuben who completeled his very first doodle today. Molly looks and feels great! Reuben is going to be an amazing groomer with a long doggy resume which also includes certified dog behaviorist & dog trainer. Great job Reuben & Molly! 💜
