💚 Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when the rescue community comes together.

Four sanctuaries joined forces alongside the FARA team to tackle projects, improve animal spaces, and lend a helping hand to someone who has spent years doing exactly that for others.

A special thank you goes to Wilma, whose dedication to animals and the rescue community spans more than 8 years. Since rescuing her very first pig, she has opened her heart and home to countless animals in need, assisted with transports across Florida and beyond, and never hesitated to step up when help was needed.

Yesterday’s event was filled with teamwork, compassion, laughter, and camaraderie. Together, volunteers washed pools, cleaned pens, repaired shelters, built new structures, organized supplies, and helped create a safer and more comfortable environment for the animals in Wilma’s care.

To everyone who attended, donated materials, shared tools, donated food, or simply supported from afar, thank you. This is what community looks like. This is what compassion in action looks like.

Wilma, thank you for everything you do for animals and for the rescue community. We are grateful for you and honored to stand beside you in this work.

💚 One team. One mission. Countless lives impacted.

What a shame to complain about an adoption fee and to put down a rescue. A place that exists for a dog that faces the worst 😢
Most people complaining about adoption fees are the same people that have a house full of animals that have never been vetted, eat up with internal and external parasites. We have seen it time and time again. These are the people that constantly look for “free” animals on here. If you only knew where those free animals ended up, you would be horrified.

Many don’t survive the first year because these properties have parvo and parasites all over the place. They don’t understand the cost of properly vetting animals because they’ve never done it. Sounds harsh but we see the same behaviors being repeated over and over. It’s incredibly sad and the animals are always the ones that suffer.
For those being negative ans complaining about adoption fees, please educate yourself:

Routine Check-ups and Vaccinations: $50 - $200
Spaying/Neutering: $200 - $500
Treatment for Infections or Minor Injuries: $100 - $1,000
Major Surgeries or Chronic Condition Treatments: $1,000 - $5,000+

Not to mention the dogs we have in our care literally with bullets in them that need surgery, and the Redlands dogs that come into rescue with broken legs, bites, wounds, and parasites! We are in desperate need to cover expenses now for all of the surgeries and heartworm treatments. We fix what another human neglected.

Let’s address what a lot of rescues think, feel & experience, but few want to say out loud: The rescue world can be incredibly toxic, draining, time consuming, and depressing when people add their negative comments and attitudes.

What starts as a desire to help animals often devolves into ego-driven debates, drama & spats over social media. It’s overwhelming, relentless, draining, discouraging & frankly dangerous.

Since we were founded many years ago, our focus has solely been on the dogs in our care & our work within the rescue.

Giving back to the dogs has been stronger than our desire to stroke our egos, defend ourselves & prove a point.

Without rescues what will happen?

Y’all, Gerry — aka Crème — is still in search of her forever home 🐰💚

As many of you may remember, Gerry came from a hoarding case in Miami where numerous rabbits were free roaming and living in unsanitary conditions. Thankfully, she made it safely into rescue and has been learning what love, stability, and proper care look like ever since.

Gerry has been with us since last year and is the only one of the babies who hasn’t found her forever home yet 🥺

She’s absolutely beautiful, just look at that eyeliner ✨ She is litter trained, sweet, independent, and definitely a little spicy 🌶️😂 Gerry likes affection on her own terms and can be very particular, so we are looking for an adopter with rabbit experience, especially if planning to bond her with another companion rabbit.

She would thrive with someone patient, understanding, and experienced with bunny behavior and proper introductions.

If you think Gerry could be the perfect fit for your home, please reach out or complete an adoption application through the link in our bio 💚

Please share to help Gerry finally find the loving home she deserves 🐰

As many of you know, FARA works closely with sanctuaries across Florida, and with the number of pig surrenders continuing to rise, we are preparing additional safe spaces for rescues. 🐷

At our upcoming volunteer event, we will be building new pig pens and enclosures, and we are currently in need of:
🪵 Treated lumber
🔨 Building supplies
💳 Home Depot or Lowe’s gift cards
💚 Monetary donations toward materials

Every donation directly helps us create safe, secure spaces for rescued pigs who have nowhere else to go. Sanctuaries throughout Florida are beyond capacity, and these projects are essential to continuing rescue efforts.

If you would like to help:
✨ Donate materials or gift cards
✨ Sponsor part of a pen build
✨ Share this post with friends, family, or local businesses

FARA is 100% volunteer-run, and all donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for helping us continue building a safer future for animals in need. 🫶
