Colton has been waiting his entire stay without a single inquiry, and our hearts are breaking for him. 💔 His health is declining—his coat is thinning, he’s losing hair, and his anxiety has gotten so severe that he has even collapsed.

We’re asking all of you to be his angels. Please help us share Colton’s story so he can finally find the forever home he deserves. 🐾

Colton is dog-friendly, loves people, playful, and has a wonderful medium-energy temperament. He’s a sweet black terrier mix waiting at Miami-Dade Animal Services.

Meet RICO 💔
This sweet boy was surrendered to the shelter and has struggled to adjust. The stress was too much for him, but thankfully he was moved to the Medley location, where he’s feeling calmer.

Sadly, Rico has been given a deadline — he urgently needs a a safe space to call home. This isn’t his fault, and he doesn’t deserve this, he is simply caught in the crossfire of the shelter system.

NUTMEG 🙏🏽✨
**Reaching Far and Low for Nutmeg**
In this video, you’ll see our amazing volunteer Norman using a chain leash to clip onto Nutmeg’s leash. This alternative method helps us safely take him out of the kennel, minimizing any concerns with him going for the leash. Nutmeg did an incredible job today! While he did want to return to his kennel at one point, he truly enjoyed his time out with the volunteers. He was affectionate, loving, and as sweet as always. Please help me share Nutmeg’s story—he’s an amazing boy who deserves a loving home.

MAXI “PUPDATE” PART 1
As many of you may know, MAXI’s plans to Canada are no longer. Norman & I intervened to get MAXI assessed by before MAXI was set to depart. In review of his assessment the adopter declined on adopting him. MAXI needs some work, and transparency is important for a successful placement of any dog. MAXI would need an experienced adopter and time & dedication to set up MAXI to thrive in a home environment.
Transparency is key, & it’s the right thing to do.
MAXI was set to get a deadline but after his adoption was “no longer” Norman & I stepped in to give him the much chance he deserved. “To just be a dog”…but in order to do that he needs to learn boundaries, structure & see his person as a leader. MAXI has some unfavorable fixations that will be helping MAXI with.
(In this video you can see how strong he is, he’s determined to get to his favorite place, the play yard & the pool, which he tends to resource guard)
MAXI is a powerful, determined, big boy, but we have full faith that he will be receptive to guidance with some tough love! Follow along MAXI’s story as we set him up to THRIVE!

Love is in full bloom when you join us at our Monthly Pet Adoption Event at the Medley Shelter on May 18th from 1 to 5 p.m.
All adoption fees for pets 4 months and older are waived for the day. Please help us and adopt a loving four-legged companion.
Adopted pets come with age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, as well as the required license and tag.
