We are a full service companion animal hospital serving Metuchen, Edison, and the surrounding area.We provide wellness checkups, preventative care, surgery, and dentistry. We treat dogs, cats, and small pocket pets including hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds. We understand that your pets are members of your family and their care is our top priority. Our staff will provide your pet with the

highest quality of veterinary care.We also participate in Friend of Animals (FOA) spays and neuters. Our highly trained technicians and assistants combine their skills with compassion when treating your pet. We handle your pets as if they were our own.

With the upcoming holiday, our office hours for the week of Christmas will be a little different. Tuesday 12/24/24 we will be in office until 12pm, Wednesday 12/25/24 & Thursday 12/26/24 our office will be closed. We will be back in office for normal hours Friday 12/27/24. We wish all our clients and their families a happy and healthy holiday season!

It’s that time of year again!!! Dr Murtha will be taking her annual vacation from July 27-August 3 this year. Our office will be open during specialty hours for picking up of medication, food, etc. as well as for any technician appt needs. We are also offering a special “spaw day” for your sweet pet pals while Dr Murtha is out of the office!! Make sure to call to schedule today!! Below you can find the details on our “spaw day”. Our hours for those dates are as follows: Sat July 27 9-12, Mon July 29-Fri Aug 2 9-2, Sat Aug 3 9-12. We thank you for your understanding while Dr Murtha is out of the office.

Happy New Year to all our furry friends and their families!! We have been receiving a few concerned calls about the rumors brewing about Purina Pro Plan and their foods. We have reached out to our rep who has confirmed with us that there is NOT any recall happening for their foods at this time. They have assured us that they are constantly doing quality checks on their products as well as additional research when these rumors are circulating. Here is the message we received from our rep.

Please beware of online rumors claiming there are issues with Purina products – these false statements may be creating unnecessary stress for pet parents. There are no health or safety issues with any of our products, and they can continue to be fed with confidence.

The quality, safety and nutrition of our products is our highest priority, and we take feedback from concerned pet owners and veterinarians very seriously. Our Quality Assurance team leads more than 100,000 quality checks EVERY DAY across our factory network with the goal of ensuring our products are safe at every stage of the process – from when our ingredients arrive at our factories to when we ship our final food and treats out to retailers and consumers. Our comprehensive program ensures the foods you feed your pets, and that we feed our own, are safe.

If you read something online that concerns you, or you have any questions about your pet food, please feel free to reach out to our team. We also recommend researching the source of these posts. Either way, please know that if there is a confirmed issue with any Purina product, we will be sharing that information with our consumers first.

UPDATE: HE HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!
This sweet baby has been missing since 12/26. The owner is visiting here in Metuchen from Germany. We have been told he is very friendly and may come when called by name, which is Balou. Please help us find this sweet guy and make his family whole again by spreading the word and this post!! The family lives over on Durham Ave and that was the last place he was seen. Thank you for all your help!!

Due to an unfortunate increase of no show/no call appointments, we will now be charging a $50 no show fee to those who do not notify our office of needing to either cancel or reschedule a set appointment. In addition to the charge, those who no call/no show will also need to give a $50 deposit for all future scheduled appointments. Again, this new policy is only for those who do NOT call to cancel or reschedule their already set appointments. New clients will also be required to put a $50 deposit for their first appointment only. We as always appreciate your support and understanding.

With the upcoming holiday, we want to make sure all our patients are prepared for all that comes with the festivities! Please double check your supply of calming meds if needed for your fur baby. Our office will be closed on Tuesday July 4 and will reopen on Wednesday July 5. While we are all enjoying bbqs & fireworks, our furry friends don't enjoy them in the same way. Make sure to keep your fur babies indoors while fireworks are happening & try not to share your delicious treats with them as they can cause pancreatitis very easily. Should you run into any emergencies with your pets, as always we suggest going to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Tinton Falls , Garden State Veterinary Services in Iselin, or NorthStar VETS - Robbinsville . Dr. Murtha will be on vacation from July 29th to August 5th.

The office will be open on the following days for medications/food/technician appointments, etc.: 7/29, 7/31, 8/1, 8/5. Please call the office at 732-549-5300 for adjusted hours of operation.

The office will be closed on the following days: 8/2, 8/3, 8/4.

Should you need to be seen immediately, we always suggest either Garden State Emergency Services in either Iselin or Tinton Falls or Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls.
