🐾 Welcome back to K9 Seven Ranch, Odie! 🐾
Meet Odie, a 6-month-old Yellow Lab who is joining us for our 30-Day Elite Off-Leash Board & Train Program!
Odie is actually a familiar face! He boarded with us as a young puppy, but now he’s back, bigger, stronger, and bringing a WHOLE lot of personality! 😂
Odie is basically a walking party! 🎉 Everyone is his best friend, every dog is a potential playmate, and every outing is an opportunity for excitement!
Sounds like a happy puppy, right? Absolutely! But all that excitement comes with some challenges.
Odie pulls excessively on the leash, jumps, mouths, barks out of excitement, has little to no recall, and has a serious prey drive. When he sees something he wants, his listening skills go right out the window!
There’s also a baby at home, and because Odie hasn’t learned how to be gentle or control his excitement, they currently have to be kept separate. His owner can’t even enjoy a stroller walk because Odie is so difficult to manage on a leash.
And THAT is exactly why he’s here!
Over the next 30 days, we’ll be focusing on impulse control, leash manners, reliable recall, appropriate greetings, boundaries, and 10+ obedience commands. Most importantly, teaching Odie to look to his handler for guidance instead of letting his excitement make every decision!
🐕 Does your dog absolutely LOSE IT when they see another person or dog? Maybe they’re not aggressive at all. They’re actually TOO friendly! Pulling, jumping, barking, and dragging you across the sidewalk just to say hello?
We work with these overly excited, frustrated greeters all the time!
Our goal isn’t to take away their happy personalities. It’s to teach them that they can still enjoy life while having the manners and self-control to match!
