This past weekend Nina and I had a great time attending Groom Expo West in Pasadena by Barkleigh! We had a great time with Ryan's Pet Supplies talking about all things OPAWZ and about Creative Grooming. Many asked if I plan the looks and the truth is NO. Most times I get Nina on the table and go from there. The pink just made me feel like summer and the cheetah added sass while the black just added bad ass. It’s one of my favorite looks to date! As always, I love seeing the reactions and happiness on people’s faces when they see her. I love answering questions and sharing how to add color within a business to increase sales! We had an amazing weekend and many more to come😉

Senior pups may move a little slower, may have attitudes and maybe not the best coat but grooming them isn’t just about keeping them clean, it’s also about ensuring their comfort.

I take my time with them because they’ve earned that patience.

And the senior clients? They’re some of my favorite conversations. They know their dogs inside and out, they show up early to every appointment, and they always have a story or a memory that reminds me why I love what I do. Sometimes you also may be the best conversation they have.

There’s an interesting kind of trust that comes with age in dogs and people and it’s a privilege to be part of their routine. 🥰

As a groomer and business owner, I can laugh now... but man, some of the things we hear on a regular basis? Wild.

These are the kinds of scenarios that make you blink three times, smile through the pain, and wonder if you’re being punk’d.

So, I’m turning these moments into content because if I’ve lived it, you probably have too.

Because sometimes the truth is funny, and if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry (or scream into a grooming towel)😂.

Last week, a dog came in with a severe case of cast matting. For those who don’t know, cast-style matting is when the matting is so dense, it forms a hard shell over the body similar to a cast that goes on a broken bone.

Here’s what I want to say about it: GROOMING should NEVER be about judgment.

The reason I took the dog is because I appreciated the dog’s owner being open and honest before booking, sharing that the dog’s coat had gotten out of control.

That transparency takes courage! Especially when many pet parents fear being judged by a groomer or a vet (especially with those who like to shame on social media).

Unfortunately, that fear can lead to delaying care, which only makes things worse for the dog.

But here, with me, it’s different.

My grooming space is a safe space for your pet and for you.

I don’t judge. I listen. I problem solve. I educate. And most importantly, I care.

We all go through hard seasons. Life gets busy. Anxiety builds. Things slip through the cracks. But your dog’s well-being still matters and when you’re ready to take action, I’m here to support you with kindness and professionalism, not shame!

If you’ve been holding off on grooming because you’re scared of what someone might say… please know this: I see you, and I’ve got your back. Let’s work together to get your pup feeling their best again.♥️

As a pet stylist AND pet owner, I always try to empathize with clients (who have reasonable explanations) who may not be the best with home maintenance.

I’m here to tell you that most pet pros are out here on a wing and prayer trying their best to keep their own pets on a consistent schedule 😂.

As you can see, Nina is sick of my excuses. The struggle is real😂.
