Meet, VEDA! Veda is a rescue dog that struggles with nail trims after being rescued with an injury to her paw! We take our time and make sure she is comfortable. Her mom brings her favorite snack of noodles and I have beef jerky and beef liver! It is one on one and we sit on the floor! We have been doing grooming training for nail trims for almost 2 years! It only takes 30 minute now!

This time I saved some of the noodles and made her beef spaghetti as a big treat at the end! She did such a great job! GO VEDA!!!

Welcome, Kelly! Zona K9 PlaySchool & Grooming is welcoming a SECOND groomer! It is important to Kelly that each dog gets groomed at their pace and remains calm and comfortable through their Spaw experience. Listening to the needs of the dog and the parent is a primary focus for her! We are now booking appointments for Kelly starting August 12th! Please message us to book your dog’s next bath and tidy or haircut!

She is going to be grooming Tuesday through Saturday from 10a to 4pm!

Today was a big day for these two dogs! They got their first Zona K9 Spaw Day experience! They were both deemed unable to be groomed or too aggressive to be groomed! Today they got the full spaw experience! Not only was it a full and complete experience but it was a POSITIVE experience!

Olive is 7 months old and was told at her first groom that she was too aggressive to be groomed! She got her first big girl haircut and everything that comes with a full groom! She was NOT aggressive… she was just a PUPPY! I am so proud of her! I also need to add that she was SOOOOO stinking sweet!

Oliver is just over 4 years old and has NEVER had a bath! He is so terrified of water that even his owners can’t give him a bath! He has never been to a groomer! Today he had his FIRST EVER bath! He was also able to have everything that comes with a full groom too! I am so proud of Oliver for being so brave!

How did they go from being “ungroomable” to being groomed? What did I do so differently?

We went slow! We built a relationship! We built trust! I set boundaries and they pushed them! I encouraged them to accept the process when they were so unsure! In the end, they walked out of my salon with a different outlook on grooming! I hope they can both learn to LOVE grooming! They both left smiling. ☺️
